Unit3 A healthy life 本单元以健康话题为主题,听说读写等活动主要围绕如何健身,怎样成为健康人展开,其中涉及许多社会热点问题,如抽烟,吸毒,艾滋病,学习与工作压力等影响健康的棘手问题。本单元引导学生讨论这些问题,目的在于让他们远离有损健康的活动,并养成良好的习惯。 Warming up 部分主要围绕健康问题展开,并提供了有关健康的话题:抽烟、酗酒、吸毒、饮食、健身、压力、肥胖。提供六幅图片,供学生思考,讨论。 Pre-reading 让学生讨论有关抽烟有害健康话题,并要求学生看reading部分两篇文章的标题与同伴预测文章的的内容,最后略读以检测其是否正确。 Reading 部分是爷爷写给孙子的一封信,介绍了爷爷健康的生活方式,抽烟的危害和戒烟的方法。 Comprehending要求学生进一步理解课文的基础,讨论主题。 Learning about language 是通过三项练习帮助谢谢理解和运用课文中所学的生词。 Using language主要介绍艾滋病毒和艾滋病的海报,训练学生的阅读理解能力。一. We may also say: Because of the healthy life I live, I can live long and actively.2. . I became addicted to cigarettes. “Addicted” means “unable to stop taking or using something as a habit”, it is usually followed by “to”. Eg, what else can people become addicted to?3. . your body becomes accustomed to having nicotine in it . “accustomed to”=“used to”. your body becomes used to having nicotine in it .eg.Having stayed in the basement for several minutes, I finally became accustomed to the darkness.4. You can become mentally addicted. mentally Physically.5. But I did finally manage. “Manage” in sentence can be used in many ways. Here it means “succeed in doing sth; cope / deal with sth”. e.g. This is a complicated job, I cant manage it without any help. 6. I knew it was time to quit smoking.Quit” here means “stop, give up sth / doing sth”. e.g. My mother quited her job recently because she feels tired and wants a long vacation.
