Teaching method: Task-based language teaching.4. Teaching procedure:Step 1: Warming up(1) Class, hows the weather today? Its sunny. Hows it going with you? Good/Great/Not bad. Good, to begin our class, lets sing a song(2) Lets sing a song: Watch a video and sing the song together.Step 2: Pre-reading(1) New words: First, lets learn some new words.(Show some pictures on the screen, point at the pictures and let students speak out the words,then give some simple explanation about each word) eg: visit-Do you often visit your grandparents on weekends? Canada-Do you want to visit Canada?(2) Talking: Talk about the pictures below with your partner. Ask these questions: Where are the people? Hows the weather? What are they doing? (Teacher gives an example: In picture A, the girl is next to the pool. Its sunny and hot. She is drinking orange juice.)You will have 2 min to talk with your partner.Step 3: While-reading(1) Fast reading: Match each postcard below with the correct picture in 2a. You will have 2 min to do it.(2) Careful reading:Letter 1Task 1: Read the first postcard in 2b and answer some questions.1 Where is Su Lin now?2 Hows Su Lins study going there?3 Who is she visiting?4 Whats she doing right now?5 Hows the weather there?Task 2: Look at the questions and retell the answers.Task 3:Try to remember the first letter divided into four parts.Part 1: What are you doing?
