Book6 Unit 9 Planning a partyThe second period 爱华小学 曾友君Contents:This is the second period of Unit 9,Book 6,Primary English For China. The pupils have learned some words about food and drinks. eg:potato chips, biscuits, popcorn, lemonade, sweets, orange juice and so on. Analysis of the students:The pupils in Grade 3 can use some simple sentences to talk about the food and drinks they like. eg:What do you like? I like . In this class, they will learn more words and sentence patterns about food.Teaching aims: 1. Language knowledge 1) To review and consolidate the words of Part A : potato chips biscuits popcorn lemonade sweets orange juice and some words about fruits they learned before. 2) To review the sentence pattern : Whens your party? Its onat 3) To learn and be able to use the following sentence patterns: A:What do you want to eat/drink? B: I want to eat I want to drink 2. Language skills 1) To learn some sentence patterns and use them in communication. 2) To learn how to express preference. 3. Sentiment Enjoy talking about food with friends 4. Cultural consciousness To know the differences between Chinese and the western eating habits. Main points:Use the language knowledge in communication. ( to finish the food list ,to go shopping for food, to take part in the birthday party)Difficult points:Understanding and using the sentence patterns: A)What do you want to eat/drink? I want to eat/drinkB) What do you like?I like Teaching aids: multimedia, a birthday hat,pictures, cards ,a birthday card , a birthday cake ,two fruit-baskets, a bag ,a little supermarket(design a bookshelf as a supermarket) real objects about food eg: potato chips biscuits popcorn lemonade sweets orange juice , apples, bananas, oranges, coke and so on.
