Unit 5 Why do you like pandas?教学设计葫芦岛市南票区金星中学才晶Unit 5 Why do you like pandas?Section A 教材分析 本单元围绕动物这一中心话题展开教学活动。本节课运用一些描述性的词语类描述一些动物,并说明自己对这些动物喜好的原因。本节课是一节听说课,从听懂熟悉话题,到描述图片和参与表演来展开活动,同时关注学生的情感,培养学生的自信心,提高对英语学习的积极性。. Teaching aims: 1. Knowledge objectives:1) New words:zoo, animal, tiger, elephant, panda, lion, koala, giraffe, cute, lazy, smart, beautiful, scary, kind of, Australia, South Africa. 2) Sentence structures: What animals do you like? Lets see the first. Why do you want to see ? Because they are Where are they from? They are from .2. Ability objectives: 1)To observe and describe animals.2)To talk about their preferences. 3. Emotion, attitude and value:We are living with animals on the earth,and animals are our friends. We are supposed to live with animals in a harmonious way. We ought to learn to care for and protect animals. Teaching points:1. Key points: Be able to describe the characteristics of animals, using some new adjectives. Be able to show preferences for some animals and give reasons as well.2. Difficult points:Use the knowledge and sentences to describe animals and talk about the reasons for the likes of animals. . Teaching procedures:Step 1. Warming-up and lead in T: I like animals, I often go to the zoo with my daughter. Do you like animals? Lets listen to a songAnimals in the zoo.T: Where are the animals in the song?Students: They are in the zoo.T: What animals do you know in the song?Students: Elephant, baby monkey, rabbit.T: Do you want to learn other animals? Lets go to the zoo and see the animals.Step 2. Presentation1. New words.Show the class some pictures of animals and present animals. And ask them: -Whats this in English? -Its a zoo. (Play a game: High and low voice.)Teach other new words like this: animal, lion, panda, elephant, koala, giraffe,tiger. 2. Practice(1)Read the words together.(2)Play a game: Role-play the animals.Step 3.New lesson1. Work on 1a. GroupworkOpen your books and turn to page 25.Can you read these words? Now, lets match the words with the animals in the picture.Check the answers.2. Work on 1b.Listening (1). Tell Ss to listen to the tape and check the animals they hear in 1a. (2). Check the answers. 3. Work on 1c. Pairwork (1)T: What animals do you like?Ss: I like pandas.(Choose a picture)T: Why do you like pandas?Ss: Because theyre very cute(beautiful, smart, lazy, fun,interesting,scary).T: Today is Sunday. Lets go to the zoo. Lets see the pandas first. Theyre my favorite animals, because theyre beautiful. What animals do you want to see first? Lets see the lions first. They are my favorite animals. Why do you want to see them?Because they are interesting. (2)Pairwork-Lets see the_first.They are my favorite animals.-Why do you want to see them?-Because they are_.4. Work on 2a.(1)Look the picture. Its Sydney Opera House. Its in Australia. Look at the picture. They are diamonds. Theyre from South Africa.Look at these elephants. This elephant is kind of big. That elephant is very big.(2)Listen and write the animals you hear. Draw a line from the animals to the description words and the countries they are from.Check the answers.5. Work on 2b.Listen again. Complete the conversation with the words in 2a.Check the answers.6. Work on 2c. Groupwork.Talk about the other two animals in 2a with a partner.Step4. Summary You did very well.
