Because the ancient Egyptians believed their pharaohs would need possessions and their bodies in the afterlife. Chapter 1 The Waterboy1.Why was Carter feeling depressed? Because Carter and his workers didnt find any tombs yet when the deadline was drawing near. 2.Why was the waterboy the most important person on the whole site?Because without a waterboy like him, the workers could die of thirst. Chapter 2 Sixteen Steps1. What did the waterboy find by accident? He found sth. under the soil which turned out to be a step leading underground. 2.
