B: It was invented inA: Who was it invented by?B: It was invented byA: What is it used for?B: It is used forStep2 PresentationActivity 1: Show a box to the students and ask several students to come to the front to do a blind taste test.After tasting,these students need to tell how each food tastes and guess what food it is.For example:It is sour.I think it is an orange.Then the teacher write down the words of tastes on the blackboard.(sweet, crispy, salty and sour)Activity2: Ask students to write the description words under the correct pictures.(1a)Step3 Game Divide the students into four groups.Each group chooses a taste from four . Then write down more names of food as quickly as possible after each word on the blackboard. The group that wrote most and best is the winner.Sample answers: sweet: honey, cakes, candies crispy: salad, potato chipssalty: pizza, French fries sour: grapes, pickleStep4 Listening(2a&2b) This activity provides some listening practice.Task1: listen and circle “T”( for true) or “F” (for false). (2a) Before listening, point to the six sentences. Ask a student to read the first sentence , and ask another student to say what the sentence means.Continue this way with each sentence.Then play the recording twice and check the answer.Task2: Complete the sentences. (2b) Read the insructions to class and point out the blanks in the sentences in the story.Then play the recording, ask students to fill in the blanks. Check the answers together.(The teacher write down the key words on the blackboard.)Step5 Pairwork(2c) This activity provides oral practice using the target language.T: After listening to the tape,can you tell me when and how potato chips were invented?
