Unit 7 Its raining!Period 1 Section A 1a-2c Teaching aims:Knowledge aims: students will be able to read, recognize, and use these words: sunny, cloudy, rainy, raining, snowy, snowing. Three places: Boston, Moscow and Toronto. And the sentence structure: Whats the weather like in ?=Hows the weather in ? Ability aims: students can talk about the weather in daily life.Emotional aims:students can help others when they work in groups, and cooperate with others.Key points and difficult points:Key points: students can master the pronunciation and the meaning of the new words and can master the usage of the sentence.Difficult point: snowy, snowing, rainy, raining. students can use the words and the sentence in real circumstances.Teaching methods: task and based teaching method, situational teaching method.Teaching aids: pictures, PPTTeaching procedures:Step 1: Warm-up and review1. Say “Good morning!” to the class and talk about some sentences we have learnt in pictures. e.g. What is he doing? What are they doing? T: Boys and girls, today we are going to learn Unit 7 Its raining!Step 2: Presentation1Ask the students to read the new words after the teacher Try to read by themselves follow the picture. e.g. sun, wind Teacher explains how to describe the weather, sunny, windyLet the students read the words in their own small groups and guess how to turn nouns into adjective forms.
