Read and writeTeaching material analysis The teaching material is Part B read and write from PEP Primary English, Book 6, Unit2. My favourite season. The topic of this unit is talking about seasons and seasonal activities. The key points are: to master four season words, seasonal activities; to ask and answer ones favourite season, and tell the reasons. This lesson is based on a reading material Robin likes them all. In order to help the students to understand the reading material and improve their reading skills, the teacher should review the learned knowledge to provide useful background. At the same time, proper extension is also helpful to improve the students learning skills.Students analysisThe students are in Grade 5. After about 3 years learning, they can understand some simple words, phrases and sentence structures. This topic, seasons, is familiar to them. But in rural primary schools, many students have difficulties in vocabulary, speaking and have less interests in learning English. Different activities are helpful to provide them the chances of using language and improve their learning abilities. In order to simulate their interests, some prizes are needed, too.Teaching aims1. Knowledge Aims: a) To understand the meaning of the word: all, fall, lovely, leaves. b) To master main idea of the reading material.2. Ability Aims: a) To improve the reading skills by pre-reading, while-reading and post-reading. b) To talk about ones favourite season and the reasons.3. Emotional Aims: To find the beauty of each season.Important points 1. Understand the new words and the reading material. 2.
