I was watching TVWhat was she doing at the time of rainstorm?She was doing her homework.2 Ability objects:Enable the students to grasp the news words and target languages.Develop the students listening, speaking and cooperating.3 Emotion objects:In our life, there always be sudden things, we should learn to deal with them 教学重 难点Enable the students to grasp the new words and target languages.Develop the students listening ,speaking and cooperating.教学准备Some pictures and a tape recorder教学时数One period教学过程教师教学活动学生学习活动教学主见Step 1 Revision1、Say greetings to the students as usual.2、Check the homework and ask some questions about it.Step 2 Presentation Show a picture on the blackboard and check their preview: What was the weather like last Friday? Get a student to answer: It was a rainstorm. Yes, “rainstorm” means rain heavily. It often comes suddenly. Write “rainstorm” and “heavily” “suddenly” on the Bb. Help to correct the pronunciation mistake he may make. Then say: I was at home at the time of the rainstorm. Where were you at the time of the rainstorm? Ask some students to give their answers by pointing at the pictures on the Bb: I was in theat the time of the rainstorm. Then ask them to match the pictures with the people in 1a quickly and check the answers with the students. Then ask: What was I doing when the rainstorm came? Do you know? Oh, yes ,I was watching TV when the rainstorm came. What were you doing when the rainstorm came? Ask them to answer by using I was -ing basketball when the rainstorm came. Then say: Today well have a new lesson Unit 5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came? Then write them on the blackboard. Step 3 Listening and practicingSay: We knew A was eating lunch when the rainstorm came. Then what was the girl doing at the time of the rainstorm in 1a? Do you want to know? Now lets listen to the tape. Play the tape for them to listen and ask them to circle the correct responses in 1b. Check the answers. Then ask them to practice in pairs by using: what was the man/woman/girl/boy doing at the time of rainstorm/He She was ing at the time of rainstorm. They can also talk about themselves.Step 4 Talking and listeningGet the students to talk about the pictures by using the target language as much as possible .For example, when he was waiting for the bus, a bus came. After that, get the students to listen to the tape and number the pictures 1-5.Then play for them to listen again and fill in the blanks in 2a.Check the answers with the students. Step 5 Pair workGet the students to ask and answer some questions about the listening in pairs. Then retell the story according to the asking and answering . Step 6 Role-playing Get the students to read the conversation and ask some questions about it. Then ask some to role-play it in pairs.
