Greet Ss as usual.2. Lead-inT:It is all known that there are many special holidays inChina.The Spring Festival,the Dragon Boat Festival,Mid-autumn Day and so on.We also eat traditional food on these days.Please look at the screen.Do you know what food we eat on the Spring Festival?Do you know when we eat rice dumplings?Do you know on which traditional festival we have mooncakes?(谈论中国传统节日为后面介绍美国的感恩节作导入准备,也让学生了解到本国的传统文化.)StepII Presentation oneT:These are Chinese traditional days.Do you know one of the most important festivals in the USA?Well,in this class well learn one of the most important festivals in the US-the Thanksgiving Day.Teacher presents the topic on the slide.1. Ask Ss to read the passage quietly and underline the new words and phrases.2. Present the new words and phrases on the screen and teach Ss them.Give them two minutes to master the new words,then check the results.(通过提问方式自然呈现文章关于感恩节的内容.先让学生默读课文划出新的单词和短语,然后再呈现出来给学生并教会学生.这样学生就能初步了解课文内容大意,扫除生词障碍. 生词的检测可以了解到学生对新单词和短语的掌握情况,教师能得到及时的反馈。)Step III.Practice one1.Lead Ss to read the passage again,answer the following questions:When is the Thanksgiving Day?Why do people celebrate it?How does Thanksgiving come from?How do people celebrate it now?Whats the main dish of the Thanksgiving meal?(通过让学生回答问题再读课文,加深对课文的理解.穿插教师对有效阅读技巧的讲解,提高学生的阅读理解能力.)2.Let Ss listen to the tape recorder ,pay attention to the pronunciation and the pause.3. Choose two representatives from boys and girls to read the article.(让学生听录音,训练了听力.邀请两位学生分别代表女生队和男生队读课文,训练了学生说的能力,同时也活跃了课堂气氛.)StepIV.Presentation TwoT:Do you know Turkeys?On the Thanksgiving Day,people always have a Turkey dinner.It is very delicious.Do you want to have a taste?Let me show you how to make a turkey dinner.(由感恩节火鸡主食导入课文内容关于火鸡的制作,通过设问引起学生的兴趣.)1. Ask Ss to read the passage quietly and underline the new words and phrases.2.Present the new words and phrases on the screen and teach Ssthem.Give them two minutes to master the new words,then check the results.(先让学生默读课文划出新的单词和短语,然后再呈现出来给学生并教会学生.这样学生就能初步了解课文内容大意,扫除生词障碍. 生词的检测可以了解到学生对新单词和短语的掌握情况,教师能得到及时的反馈。)StepV.Practice Two1. Ask them to read together.(学生通过再读课文给图片编号,加深了对火鸡制作程序的理解。给学生时间复述火鸡制作程序,训练了他们掌握与记忆英语课文内容的能力,也提高了英语表达能力。听力与朗读培养学生听、读能力。)Step VI ConsolidationGive Ss a reading exercise on the paper as homework.If have time,teacher can let Ss do it in class and then check the answers.(通过做这一阅读练习,巩固了学生的阅读技巧的训练,进一步提高了学生的阅读理解能力)VII.SummaryIn this period,we learnt some new words and expressions. words: Thanksgiving:n.感恩节traditional:adj.传统的autumn:n.秋traveler:n.漂泊者,旅行者England:n.英格兰celebrate:v.庆祝pepper:n.胡椒粉fill:v.使充满oven:n.烤箱plate:n.盘子cover:v.覆盖n.覆盖物gravy:n.(调味)肉汁expressions :by doing sth.通过做某one way to do sth.做某事的一种方法。 mix together把.混合fill.with.用.把.装满cover.with.用.盖. After studying the reading part,we have known the Thanksgiving in the US. At the same time,we learned how to do a reading exercise effectively.Then,we consolidated and improved our comprehensive skills by doing a reading exercise.(总结主要呈现这一节课的主要内容。)VIII. Watch a short video to strengthen the value of appreciation(观看短片,是对学生的情感价值观的教育,学会感恩。)IX.Homework1.Finish the reading exercise on the paper after class.2.Write an article on how to cook your favorite dish. 3.Preview the next period.
