Have them know no one can avoid problems around us. If you are in trouble, first face them, then you should solve them positively. As for others problems, you can give correct suggestions by using the target language learned in this class. Section A 1a - 1c.Part II:1、Show another video about too much homework from my little son.A: Whats wrong with the boy?Ss: He has too much homework to do , he is tired, he wants to sleep.T: He studied until midnight.( Pay attention to the new word, midnight.) He didnt have get enough sleep. Do he like to do it?Ss: No, he doesnt.T: Maybe he likes watching cartoons, but he has too much homework, no cartoons. He doesnt have any free time to do things he likes. Yes?Ss: Yes.T: How about you? Do you have too much homework?Ss: Yes, we do.T: Do you have enough sleep?Lets talk about our common problems in our life.Show more pictures to help students learn how many problems around us. Encourage students to try to read the problems before class and understand these problems.Step II Discussing (1a)1、Look at these problems. Do you think they are serious or not? Ss discuss with their partners and give some advice. I have to study too much so I dont get enough sleep. I have too much homework so I dont have any free time to do things I like. My parents dont allow me to hang out with my friends. I have too many after-school classes. I got into a fight with my best friend.2、I think its serious that I have too many after-school classes. I think its not serious that I have too much homework so I dont have any free time to do things I like. Step III Practice speaking1、More practice about the target language.2、Read the instructions to the class. Make sure all they know what to do in this part.3、According to different pictures, encourage students to try. Show a sample conversation on the screen for students to imitate to make their own conversations in pairs.Praise them with good, great or well done. And then check some pronunciation mistakes if necessary. e.g. A: Whats wrong? B: Im really tied because I studied until midnight last night. A: Why dont you go to sleep earlier this evening? Step IV Pair-work(1c)1、Read the instructions to the class. Make sure all they know what to do in this part.2、Show a sample conversation on the screen for students to imitate to make their own conversations in pairs.3、Give them several minutes to prepare. Then get pairs of them to act out to the whole class.Praise them with good, great or well done.e.g. A: Whats wrong? B: I cant get good grades. A: Why dont you ask your teacher for help? Step Its time to practice listening. ( 1b )1、Read the instructions to the class. Make sure all they know what to do in this part.2、Read the responses below with the students together.3、Play the recording for the first time, students only listen. Play it again, students circle the correct responses. ( Play it for a third time if necessary, because there are two girls speaking, its a little difficult to master who is speaking. )4、Check the answers by getting one or two students read out their answers.Praise them with good, great or well done.Step SummarySay: Today, we have learned how to talk about our problems around us, and if other people have trouble, can you give some right advice? Some students might did not do well in the exam and regarded the poor grades as a failure. Some students werent very popular than they had expected and regarded that as a failure. They might lose the confidence in getting better grades next time or trying to make more friends. However, failure will lead to success. The poor grade will tell you the weakness in the studying of a course. The unpopular student might find out he need to be more kind or try to help others when they need him.
