Teaching Materials and Students analysis : This unit is mainly about geography and nature. Let the students know how to communicate with others using comparatives and superlatives.The content of this unit is closely related to students daily life, so its easy to encourage them to communicate with others by using what they have learned in this class.2. Students analysis: a. Most students cant insist on the habit of speaking English everyday. b. Many of our students lack of practice of listening. c. Students are afraid of making mistakes and dare not speak English in class.Part Teaching Objectives1. knowledge Objectives: Words and Sentences New words and phrases: square,meter,deep,desert,population,Asia,feel free,tourist,wall,amazing,ancient,protect,wide,as far as I know New sentence patterns: A: Whats the highest mountain in the world? B: Qomolangma B: Whats the longest river in the world? A: Nile 2. Ability Objectives: Listening & speakinga) Ask the students to make up a similar dialogue like that. b) Help them to understand the dialogue better and improve the four skills. c) Get the students to grasp the sentences and words from the listening materials. 3. Moral Objectives: Communication and loving naturePurpose: To let students know these objectives and have a skeleton of this lesson.Part Important & Difficult Points1.Teaching important points: Listening and speaking; Comparatives and superlatives.2. Teaching difficult points: Arouse students enthusiasm to talk about nature with comparatives and superlatives. Purpose: Let students acquire real skills by communicating with others .Part Teaching Methods1.Task-based language teaching2.Pairwork3.GroupworkPurpose: To make the students the real masters in class while the teacher himself acts as the director and bring their abilityinto full play.Part Teaching Procedures1. Greeting and Lead-in (Pictures & videos)a) Show students some pictures of nature b) Show a video about QomolangmaPurpose : It is very important to lead students interests with some pictures and videos .2. Presentation (new knowledge)a) Present the pattern: A: Whats the highest mountain in the world? B: B: what the longest river in the world ? B: .b) Do some listenings. Check the details.(1b,2a,2b)Purpose: To present the skills of listening.3. Practice (Words & Sentence pattern) (And then, change the nouns and do pairwork) A: Did you know that China is one of the oldest countries in the world? B: Yes,I did. Its much older than my country.purpose: To enhance students memories of words and sentence patterns4. Consolidation (Analysis & Practice) Divide students into groups and describe nature with comparatives and superlatives of adjectives and adverbs. 5. Homework1. To memorize the important phrases and sentences.2. To make some dialogues about asking the size of objects.3.
