Key and difficult points: 1.Vocabulary: buy some drinks and snacks; borrow some money; invite someone to a party;go to the store; take out the rubbish; make your bed; do the dishes. 2. Target language: 1) Could you clean your room? Yes, I can. 2) Could I invite my friends to a party? No, you cant have a party. You have a test on Monday.III. Teaching aids: PPT and macro-mediaIV. Teaching methods: Audio-lingual methodsV. Teaching procedures:Step1.Leading in:Watch a video about Clean-up to arouse students interest and answer a question to review some phrases in Section A. T:What does Mrs. Jones ask Amy to do in the video? S: sweep the floor and make the bed. Step 2. Preparation( Section B: 1a)T: Do you often sweep the floor or make the bed?T: What do your parents often ask you to do at home?(By showing related pictures lead students to notice phrases in 1a)S1: My parents ask me to take out the rubbishS2: My parents ask me to make the bedS3: My parents ask me to clean my roomT: Do you ask your parents to do any thing? What do you ask them to do?S1: I ask my mother to buy some drinks and snacks for me.S2: I borrow some money from my father.Pay attention to the chart in activity 1a . T: Look at the items in the chart. What can teenagers ask their parents to do? What do parents ask their teenagers to do? Write “parents” or “teenagers” next to each phrase. Ask students to read the phrases together and give proper explanation.Step 3. Pair work (Section B: 1b)Let students use the phrases in activity 1a to make conversations between parents and teenagers. First, invite one student to make a sample conversation with the teacher.(To let students understand the methods of making conversations)Then students make their own conversations and make a sentence dragon in each group.(To encourage students to join in the group work). Step4.Listening (Section B:1c,1d)This activity gives students practice in understanding the target language in spoken conversation and enable students to improve their listening ability.T: Now imagine Sandy is going to have a party, what will she do for her party?S1:She is going to invite some friends to a partyS2:She is going to buy some drinks and snacks.T:Now, listen to the conversation between Sandy and her mom. Please check each item in activity 1a they talk about. Put a check mark in front of each phrase you hear. Play the recording, students listen and check the items. T: From the conversation, we know Sandy will hold a party. She will invite some friends to the party. But she needs to do some preparation. She asks her mom to help her. And Dave is one of Sandys friends. He will also help Sandy do the preparation. So what is Sandys mom going to do? What is Sandy going to do? What are Sandy and Dave going to do? Lets listen again and fill in the chart in activity 1c. Play the recording again. Ask students to write down the things the three people are going to do. Pause the tape where necessary. Check the answers by standing up quickly.(To encourage students to compete with others and take part in the class activities.)Step5: Group work (Section B: 1e)(To encourage more students to speak English bravely)T: Suppose you are having a party. Make a list of things you need to do. Look at activity 1d. Some things are already given. Write more things you need to do.Get students work in pairs and add more things to make a dialogue.
