How to receive western guests at the airport.2. How to introduce the famous scenic spots for the guests.教学进程(含章节教学内容、学时分配、教学方法、帮助手段)I. Lead-in Part: (20) A. In this part, the teacher aims to tell students how to make preparations before the interpreting. 1. Why should we do preparations before the interpreting?(Answers: interpreting includes various kinds of areas, such as economy, politics, technology, culture, etc., therefore, the interpreter should be Jack of all trades.)2. How to do preparation before the interpreting?(Answers: (1) Collect the background information of the speaker and the topic.(2) Prepare for the professional words and expressions of the topic.(3) Communicate with the speaker.(4) Have good psychological qualities.B. professional words and expressions of the topic(1) welcome (2) tourism (page 10-11)II. In-Class Activities: (70)The 1st part aims to help students know how to receive western guests at the airport. In this part, the students will hear two dialogues about the reception at the airport, and the students need to interpret the English one into Chinese, and vice versa. (30)A. Task 1 (Mr. Huang receives Susan at the airport.)Susan: Nice to meet you, Mr. Huang.译员: 很高兴见到你,黄先生。黄斌: 我也很高兴见到您,西蒙女士。欢迎您到我们武汉来,一路辛苦了。译员: Nice to meet you too, Ms. Simon. Welcome to Wuhan. How was your flight?Susan: Thanks. I had a good flighta bit long though.译员: 谢谢。感觉不错,就是路程有些长。黄斌: 行李给我吧,车子在外面等着呢。译员: Let me help you with your luggage. The car is waiting outside.Susan: Thank you. It is very kind of you. Please help me with that one. I am a heavy traveler.译员: 非常感谢。请帮我拿那个吧。我出门总是带很多行李。(In the car)黄斌: 这是武汉二桥,前不久才刚刚重修过,沿江风景不错吧?译员: This is Wuhans Second Yangtze Bridge. It was rebuilt not long ago. The scenery along the Yangtze River is beautiful, isnt it?Susan: Yes, it is beautiful. In England there is such sightseeing but with different style and flavor. Mr. Huang, if possible, I invite you to enjoy the sightseeing in England, I am sure you will have special experience.译员: 确实很美。在英国也有美丽的风景,不过风格跟这不一样。黄先生有机会也去我们那儿看看,感觉会不同的。黄斌: 是吗? 有机会我一定要去一饱眼福。译员: Really? Im looking forward to.Susan: Well, I have heard about the Yangtze River many times, but this is the first time 1 see it. It is really fantastic. 译员: 我已经久闻长江的大名了,但是这是我第一次亲眼看到它,真是太壮观了。黄斌: 是呀,长江是世界第三大河流,仅次于南美洲的亚马逊河流和非洲的尼罗河。它是中国的第一长河,是中华文明的发祥地。译员: Yes, the Yangtze River is the third longest river in the world, only after the Amazon in South America and the Nile in Africa. It is the longest one in China, and also a cradle of ancient Chinese civilization.Susan: That is great! How long is it?译员: 太壮观了,大约有多长?黄斌: 长约6300公里。译员: About 6,300 kilometers.Susan: Oh! It is amazing! And the Three Gorges are also famous. I wish I had the opportunity to go there.译员:真长呀!长江三峡也非常有名。我希望能有机会去看看。黄斌:确实。三峡吸引了许多海内外的游客。那里风光秀丽,景色宜人。三峡大型水利工程也是举世瞩目的。如果您这次访问有多余的时间, 真该去那里看看。译员: Indeed so. The Three Gorges have attracted millions of tourists both at home and abroad. The scenery is really fantastic. The Three Gorges Water Conservancy Project is also world known. If you are not so occupied this time, you really should go and have a look there.Susan: Yes, I will see if I can spare some time. Anyway, could you tell me what my schedule here will be?译员: 是啊,看我能否抽出时间吧。对了,你能把我在这里的行程告诉我吗?黄斌: 我们是这样安排的今晚我们经理为您举办了一个小小的欢迎晚宴;明早我们就来接您去我们工厂参观产品和生产线;下午洽谈合同事宜; 如果一切顺利的话,后天带您游览一下武汉。您看这样安排可以吗?译员: We have arranged in this way. Tonight, our manager will hold a welcome banquet for you. Tomorrow morning, well pick you up to the factory and show you around our products and production line. In the afternoon, we will discuss the details of the contract. If everything goes smoothly, the day after tomorrow we would like to show you around Wuhan. What do you think of it?Susan: Fine.译员: 很好。黄斌: 我们到了,请下车,您先请。译员: Here we are. After you, please!Task 2 (page 43)The 2nd part aims to help students learn about introduction of the scenic spots. In this part, the students will hear one dialogue about tourism, and the students need to interpret the English one into Chinese, and vice versa. (30) (page11)c. group performance (10)The students are asked to be divided into small groups, and each group has three members.
