S1: I am afraid of snakes because they are scary and poisonous. S2:Im afraid of spiders because they look horrible. 2. Share Ms Yangs experience. T: I know most of you are afraid of snakes. So am I. Now, let me tell a story about myself. Two months ago, I had a special experience. In the morning, I played badminton with my husband, we had a wonderful time. But, suddenly, I couldnt find my ring. Then I looked for it. On the grass, I saw a snake sleeping. I was so scared that I couldnt move. Then I shouted to my husband for help. At that moment, the snake woke up and climbed up the tree. Look at the pictures and the title “A weekend to remember”, whats the passage about, can you guess? S1: India, Taj Mahal, snake, trip/holiday, scary. S2: A family had a holiday in India, they saw a snake. They were scared. T: A good story! Lets read the passage “A weekend to remember”. 【设计意图】在读前,用PPT生动地介绍自己的一次经历,并以图片、肢体语言、词语注释等方式呈现生词、短语,帮助学生在语句中、在情境中学习生词,加深理解;过渡导出India这个单词,从而简单介绍印度的蛇文化;学生插图及标题推测文章的内容,激发阅读兴趣,从而为下面的阅读活动做好铺垫。在此步活动中,用情境关注学困生对词义的理解及用音标标注的方法指导学生正确发音,对学优生进行语句和语篇理解的指导,鼓励学生猜测生词,并进行故事讲述的互动。Step 3 While-reading1. Fast reading Ss scan and write short answers (2 minutes). What was the special gift? What woke the snake up? 【设计意图】鼓励学生通过表演wake up, jump up and down 等词语,加深对词语的理解,从而帮助学生抓关键信息,提高阅读效率。2. Careful reading(1) Ss read for the detailed information.Read Part1(My sister finished high school. But I was so tired that I went to sleep early.)Circle T or F. Lisas sister left school last weekend. F T The trip from the city to the lake took a long time. F T They put up their tents and made a fire to keep them warm. F T Lisa went to sleep very late. F TSs read and find the answers by themselves, then they can work in groups to solve the difficulties if necessary.Ss share the answers in the whole class. The T praises the Ss who do well.While sharing the answers,the T helps the Ss learn some language points,such as, Two weeks ago.
