Step 2 Presentation 1、 Teach the new words and expressions.(1) Show students a picture of a bowl of noodles.(2) Draw three different sizes of circles on the board.(3) Show the students some pictures of food to teach some new words: hamburgers, noodles, rice(4) Show the students some pictures of vegetables to teach these new words: potatoes, tomatoes, cabbages, carrots.(5) Show students some pictures of meat to teach them these new words: beef, mutton, chicken, fish.2、 Teach Activity 1a.(1) Focus on the three kinds of noodles in the picture and finish 1a.(2) Point out the numbered list of ingredients. Say each word and ask students to repeat.(3) Then ask students to match each word with one of the ingredients in noodles.(4) Check the answers together.3、 Teach Activity 1b.Play the recording a second time and finish 1b. Later check the answers together.4、 Teach Activity 1c.Ask two students to read the dialogue in the picture in 1a to the class. Explain some language points.(1) What would you like? 你想要什么?(2) Im not sure yet. 我还不确定。Give them five minutes to do it. Step 3 Practice1、 Listening.(Activities 2a &2b)(1) First lead students to have a look at the food in the picture in 2a and name each one.(2) Then have them read the words together.(3) Next read the sentences in 2b. Point to the blank lines.(4) Play the recording again. Ask students to listen and write the missing word in each blank.(5) Finally invite several students to present their answer. Correct mistakes if any.2、 Pairwork (Activity 2c )(1) First lead students to read the dialogue in the speech bubbles to understand their meaning. Explain the language point.(2) Then put students into pairs to ask and answer questions about the food in 2a like this.(3) Give then enough time to do it.(4) Finally invite several pairs to act out for the whole class. Step 4 Summary In this period, weve learned some words about food and expressions about how to order food. And weve also done some listening and speaking practice to consolidate what we learned.
