Hellow, everyone! I am pleased to stand here and show my teaching ideas. Today, my title is Unit 7: Would you mind turning down the music? Section A, Grade 8.My teaching ideas consist of 6 parts: Teaching Materials, Teaching Methods, Learning Strategies, Teaching Procedure, Blackboard Layout, and Teaching Evaluation.Lets come to part one-Teaching Materials. It includes Status and Functions, Teaching Contents and Teaching Aims.Firstly, Status and Functions. The textbook Go for it” is close to students daily life, and emphasizes intergrated skills of English. This book pays more attention to languages communicative functions, students are working at the level of realistic communication, not just at the level of vocabulary and sentence patterns.Secondly, Teaching Contents. This uint talks about how to make requests politely in English and enable students to answer the requests. Thirdly, Teaching Aims. According to the Nationl English Curriculum, it contains knowledge aims, ability aims and affection aims. For knowledge aims, students will learn to use the key and difficult points in my class. For ability aims, the students are able to improve their listening and speaking ability, and they can develop their cooperate and competitive spirit. For affection aims, I will guide the students to keep civilized behaviors and form a good habit.As far as Teaching methods is concerned, I will mainly use communicative teaching method and task-based teaching method. Various pairworks and tasks will be designed for the students to master appropriate functional patterns. Besides, I will use audio-visual teaching method, an interesting video will be played for the students.Lets move to part 3-Learning Strategies. As we know, developing the effective Learning Strategies is one of the most important parts of the National English curriculum, and the Congnitive Strategies, Self-management Strategies, Communicative Strategies, and Resource Strategies are benificial for students learning. In my class , I will encourage students to master these Learning Strategies, and encourage them to use them.Weve finally come to the most important part-Teaching Procedure. Teaching Procedure is made up of four steps: warm-up, pre-task, task-cycle, and homework. First, warm-up. It is said: Well began is half done. So in this step, I will begin my class an interesting video, which is made by myself. Here I use audio-visual teaching method, it will arouse ss great interests and curiosity. Further more, as the plot comes from the story that happens around the ss, they will pay more attention to my next discussion: If you are in this kind of situation, what would you do? and How to make requests politely in English? After the discussion, I will let the ss share the ideas of their group to the whole class. In this way, I can lead the ss to the new topic of section A; meanwhile, ss can exchange their ideas with each other.Second, pre-task. In this step, I will design a research: watch the three picture carefully, and try to find out how to make requests politely in English. Picture 1: Would you mind not sleeping late? Im sorry, Ill get up in a minute. Picture 2: Would you mind turning down the music? Im sorry, Ill do it right away. Picture 3: Would you mind not smoking here? Im sorry, I wont do it again. Then I will guide the ss to sum up the structure with their partners. OK, welcome come to game time-clap the phrases. In this game, I will read the phrases, and the ss clap them. The one who clap the right phrases first will be the winner, and the losers will be punished to perform the phrases out. In this way, ss can not only have a deep impression of the phrases, but also have a good understanding of them.Third, task-cycle. In this step, Id like to introduce four tasks, they are listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In my class, I will mainly focus on listening, speaking.Task 1, listening. I will devide listening into pre-listening, while-listening, and post-listening. For pre-listening, in order to improve ss listening ability, I will guide the ss to read the questions first, and mark the key points. After this kind of pre-listening, ss will discover the while-listening is not very difficult, they can find out the answers easily. For post-listening, Id like to guide the ss to practice the dialogues in the listening. For letting them practice it with great interets, I will prepare a game-call ones name. In this game, ss are devided into four groups. One can only call the partner from other groups to practise the dialogue. If they practise it well, Id like to provide my candies to them. In this way, ss can both can both form a good listening habit, and develop their cooperate spirit.Task 2, speaking. In this task, I will introduce an activity-crazy English. I will show the crazy sentences to the ss first, and let them finish reading the sentences in a short time. When all of the ss have finished reading it, the volenteers can show their speaking. Then the whole class will vote for the best speaker. The one who can speak the clearest, fastest, and loudlist will be the winner. In this way, ss can on one side improve their speaking ability effectively, on the other side, they can develop their competitive spirit. After the crazy English is a role play. In this play, the situation can be made up by the ss themselves, but the polite requests must be used to stop some bad behaviors. In this way, ss can have a full use of what they have
