for not only but also either or neither nor 等 二 从属连词 从属连词用来引导名词性从句和状语从句 常用的从属连词有 that whether if after when before since until because although though 等 三 短语连词 短语连词是由几个词组成的短语 起连接作用 常用的短语连词有 as soon as in order that as long as 等 四 连词在使用时的几点注意 1 当 either or neither nor not only but also 连接两个主语时 其谓语动词要与 靠近的主语一致 例如 Neither she nor I am a worker 2 汉语的 虽然 但是 应是 although though 或 but although though 与 but 只 能用其一 同样汉语的 因为 所以 应译成 because 或者 so 不能说成 because so 例如 因为她有点饿 所以她开始做饭 Because she was a little hungry she cooked some food 或 She was a little hungry so she cooked some food 3 for 意为 因为 是并列连词 一般不能放在句首 例如 You d better put on your overcoat for it s rather cold outside 4 and 和 or 用在祈使句中 and if you you ll or if you don t you ll 例如 Work hard and you ll pass the exam If you work hard you will pass the exam Get up early or you ll be late for school If you don t get up early you ll be late for school 五 两组易混连词的区别 1 whether 和 if 引导名词性从句 意为 是否 时 whether 引导的从句可以移到句首 if 不可 例如 I can t say whether this is true or not 可说成 Whether this is true or not I can t say 不可说 If this is true or not I can t say whether 可以引导表语从句和主语从句 表示 是否 if 不能 例如 Whether it is true or not remains a question 它是不是真的还是一个问题 The question is whether he should do it 问题在于他是否应该做这事 用心 爱心 专心 2 because since 和 as 表示 原因 是有一定区别的 because 语气最强 它是着重说明原 因或理由的从句 常位于主句之后 since 的语气比 because 稍弱 表示关系上的自然结果 因此常译成 既然 鉴于 as 语气最弱 只说明一般的因果关系 在回答以
