delight in the existence of creatures and even whole societies beyond our everyday lives This sense of wonder is universal Look at the efforts that scientists have made to find out whether life of some kind exists on Mars and the popularity of fantasy 幻想 literature or movies like The Lord of the Rings This sense of wonder draws us to each other to the world around us and to the world of make believe But have we gone so far in creating worlds of fantasy that we are missing the pleasure of other worlds that already exist all around us Human beings as biologists have suggested possess an inborn desire to connect with and understand other life forms However people especially in big cities often lead rather isolated lives In a study of British schoolchildren it was found that children by age eight were much more familiar with characters from television shows and video games than with common wildlife Without modern technology a small pond could be an amazing world fille d with strange and beautiful plants insects birds and animals When we lack meaningful interaction 交互 with the world around us and sometimes even with our families and friends we seek to understand and communicate with things that exist only in our imaginations or on a computer screen The world of make believe is not necessarily bad But when the world of fantasy becomes the only outlet 出路 for our sense of wonder then we are really missing something We are missing a connection with the living world Other wonderful worlds exist all around us But even more interesting is that if we look closely enough we can see that these worlds in a broad sense are really part of our own 解题导语 本文是一篇科技说明文 本文主要讲述了奇迹和幻想的不同 幻想是人的天 性 而奇迹的意义比较广泛 由于好奇 我们往往对我们日常生活以外的事物非常感兴趣 就像科学家们为了找到火星上是否存在生命一样 好奇使我们对周围的世界产生幻想 其结 果就是人们相互缺少交流和沟通 试图理解并和仅存在于想象中的事物进行沟通 严重偏离 2 了客观事实 从而告知我们绝对不能沉浸于虚幻的世界 5 The popularity of The Lord of the Rings proves A the close connection between man and the fantasy world B the wonderful achievements of fantasy literature C the fine taste of moviegoers around the world D the general existence of the sense of curiosity 解析 选 D 推理判断题 文章第二段主要讲述了好奇心的普遍性 作者引用电影 指环王 目的就是为了证明好奇就是普遍存在的 信息词 the popularity of fantasy 幻想 literature or movies like The Lord of the Rings 幻想文学的流行或像电影 指环王 的流行 就表明了好奇的普遍存在 故只能选 D A 人类和幻想世界之间的紧密联系 B 幻 想文学的巨大成就 和 C 全球电影爱好者的品味 都没有提到流行性 都不符合题意 6 What can we infer from the underlined sentence in Paragraph 3 A People are far less familiar with the world of fantasy B The world around us could serve as a source of wonder C The world of fantasy can be mirrored by a small and lively pond D Modern technology prevents us from developing our sense of wonder 解析 选 B 推理判断题 句意 没有现代技术 一个小小的池塘可以是一个充满奇特 美 丽动植物和飞禽走兽的奇妙世界 由句意可知 这里指我们周围的世界就可当作一种好奇资 源 就地取材 根据第三段 it was found that children by age eight were much more familiar with characters from television shows 我们发现 8 岁的小孩都对电 视剧里的人非常熟悉 可排除 A C 小小的池塘可以当作一面镜子 不合句意 D 现代技术阻 止我们理解好奇的意义 偏离了主题 7 If our sense of wonder relies totally on the world of make believe we will A fail to appreciate the joy in our lives B be confused by the world of make believe C miss the chance to recognize the fantasy world D be trapped by other worlds existing all around us 解析 选 A 推理判断题 最后一段告诉我们 假设的世界不一定很糟 但是当幻想世界变 成我们理解好奇的唯一出路时 那么我们就真正地错过了一些美好的事物 我们就渐渐地和 我们生存的世界失去联系 从而判断如果我们好奇的意义仅限于假设的世界 我们将无法感 受到真正生活的乐趣 故选 A 信息词 missing something 可推测 这里只是失去生活的真 正意义 而非 B 被幻想世界所迷惑 C 失去识别幻想世界的机会 和 D 被存在于我们周围 的其他世界所困 3 8 What is the main purpose of the passage A To show us the hidden beauty in our world B To warn us not to get lost in the fantasy world C To argue against the misuse of the sense of wonder D To discuss the influence of the world of make believe 解析 选 B 主旨大意题 由文章最后一段 特别是第二句 But when the world of fantasy becomes the only outlet 出路 for our sense of wonder then we are really missing something 但是当幻想世界变成我们理解好奇的唯一出路时 那么我们就真正的错 过了一些美好的事物 和最后一句 But even more interesting is that if we look closely enough we can see that these worlds in a broad sense are really part of our own 最有趣的是如果我们仔细看看 广义来讲 这世界真正是我们的世界 推测出 告知我们千万不能沉浸于虚拟的幻想世界 故选 B 而 A 展示我们周围隐藏的美妙之物 C 辩论好奇意义的滥用 和 D 讨论幻想世界的影响 都是很片面的 结束 话题探究话题探究 链接高考链接高考 链接链接 1 1 20122012 四川卷 四川卷 I
