TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 1 Die cutter Unit Operation 1 Overview The section introduces mainly die cutter unit functions and its components Functions of die cutter unit receive cardboard that has been printed and carry out cutting according to cutting die designed by customers The die cutter unit consists of side frame steel support die cylinder anvil cover roll die cutting clearance adjustment upper and lower feeding wheels and adjustment modules grinding device die cutting register adjustment modules scrap conveyance device oil tank and oil return module transmission gear electromotor and electrically controlled modules and parts Die cutter unit itself is a relatively complete and independent working unit Die cutter Unit 1 Side frame 2 Die cylinder 3 Anvil roll 4 Die cylinder See picture A a Fine grounded and chrome plated It has been processed by dynamic balance and can run steadily b The die cylinder has enough holes for mounting cutting die which facilitate clients to install cutting die of different specifications and process paperboard of different specifications c Control cutting die cylinder transverse movement through buttons on the control panel the adjustment distance of which is 20mm in total 10mm The cutting die position may be adjusted precisely within the precision of 0 1mm Anvil roll and driving motor See picture A a Fine grounded and chrome plated It has been processed by dynamic balance and can run steadily b The anvil roll can move laterally with a distance of 50mm which is featured by steady and noiseless operation As a result the life of anvil roll is improved greatly c It adopts independent motor for anvil roll running and automatically adjusts speed of the roll No manual work is required Consequently it is guaranteed that the carton of each batch has the completely same size when process repeat orders Grinding device See picture A The lead screw movement is driven by motor and speed reducer The grinding device moves left and right So grinding is realized The ground anvil cover features excellent shape and position precision As a result the die cutting pressure may be reduced The anvil cover becomes more shaft which is used to adjust the anvil roll is made of 45 steel Fine grounded and chrome plated It has been processed by dynamic balance and can run steadily b The gap between die cylinder and anvil roll is motorized Different thickness paperboard could go through and the precision reaches 0 1mm What s more a limit device is applied for protection c It adopts ball bearing structure on both ends which may be adjusted much more easily Upper and lower feeding rolls adjusting See picture B a The upper and lower feeding rolls adopts 45 steel Fine grounded and chrome plated It has been processed by dynamic balance and can run steadily b The gap between upper and lower feeding rolls is adjusted automatically Different thickness paperboard can go through and the precision could reach 0 1mm Limit device is applied for protection c There are long rack and three mobile pull collars on the upper feeding roll The three pull collars could be adjusted according to customers need It is easily device See picture E a The fined alloy oil tank and oil returning device are used to connect all oil tanks in each unit so lubricant in each unit is kept at the same level b Enough lubricating for driving gear is realized Also complete closure and low noise are kept c Improve the driving gear and the whole machine s life and create a comfortable working condition E E Oil observing assembly See picture F The lubricant in the lower oil tank is pumped to the oil distributor while the machine is in running And the lubricant flows onto each gear through many small pipe The gear lubricating and temperature reducing are realised The operator can not see inside running condition especially if the driving gear is lubricated enough Because the machine is completely closed while in operation Now the operator can get the information through the oil observing assembly The oil observing assembly function is to show if the lubricating system is working properly The lubricating system works well and the gears get good lubricating if you can see the lubricant flowing from the oil observing window If you can not see the oil flowing after the machine runs for a while it means that the lubricant is not enough or the oil pump is broken In this situation you must add the lubricant or repair the pump TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 7 F F 3 Function Introduction The section introduces Small panel I Emergency stop L TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 11 3 2 Control Panel Buttons Introduction 3 2 1 AC24V Power supply indicator G If this indicator is on and it means the power ok 3 2 2 Unit interlock G TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 12 This button is used to control unit close and When the button is turned to I shown as picture 1 the units interlock device is closed Close and open could not be carried now When the button is turned to O shown as picture 2 the units interlock device is open Close and open could be carried now 3 2 3 Unit movement G Unit movement control button Unit moving enable button To make units move left push enable button with right hand and left control button with left hand It is designed for avoiding operator s injury To make units move right push enable button with right hand and right control button with left hand TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 13 When the units are closed first you must turn unit interlock to O position Now you can control unit movement When close units you must turn interlock to I position Now the units interlock will be locked No matter the units move right or left the alarm above the machine will flash and buzz to assure security 3 2 4 Die cutting gap adjusting G Press button gap between anvil roll and die cylinder decrease Press button gap between anvil roll and die cylinder increase 3 2 5 Zeroing adjusting G Press this button and the die register will come to zero automatically TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 14 3 2 5 Emergency stop H H It is used in emergency Press this button and the machine running and automatic control will all stop Turn the button clockwise to reset the machine and it can be started again 3 2 6 Jogging H Push this button the jogging function is started and machine in slow running 3 2 7 Scrap conveyance H This button is used to control scrap conveyance start and stop TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 15 When the switch is turned to I the scrap conveyance device starts and the conveyance belt begins to run When the switch is turned to O the scrap conveyance device stops and the conveyance belt stops running 3 2 8 Grinding H H Control the grinding device action To the left Move to the D S and begin grinding To the left Move to the O S and begin grinding To the middle Grinding stop 3 2 9 Die cutting register H Push die cutting register button as the left picture shows and then push button on the control panel register decrease button on the control panel register increase The die cutting plate register can be adjusted in two directions while the die cylinder is in running or not Before adjusting the register the die cutting register must return to zero position 3 2 10 Box height H H TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 16 17 3 2 13 Emergency stop L Could stop the unit moving inside 4 Unit adjustment The section introduces mainly parts that shall be adjusted for the die cutter unit And operating methods and notices are also introduced Before operation with the die cutter unit please get familiar with the followings as well as relevant operation explanations for electronic part of the brochure 4 1 Register Adjustment Make the die cutting register return to zero and do as the followings Die cutting register is motorized through the button on the control panel Push button and the actual size of the die cutting can be increased manually Push button and the actual size of the die cutting can be decreased manually The value will be shown on the touch screen of the main control panel TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 18 4 2 Die cutting caliper adjustment See Picture F The caliper between anvil roll and die cylinder is adjusted through the button on the control panel Push button and the caliper value between anvil roll and die cylinder can be increased Push button and the caliper value between anvil roll and die cylinder can be decreased The value will be shown on the touch screen of the main control panel 4 3 Upper and lower feeding roll caliper adjustment Caliper adjustment can be realized by adjusting the button on the control panel Press button the caliper will increase Press button the caliper will decrease The value will be shown on the touch screen of the main control panel TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 19 5 Machine Maintaining This section mainly introduce the regular maintenance During machine working time regular servicing and maintaining are required for the machine 5 1 Machine Cleaning It is forbidden to use acidic or alkaline substances thinner and rubber liquid to clean the painted part of the machine it is forbidden to clean the machine by hard steel brush so as to protect the original color and luster of the paint The appearance of the machine should be cleaned at each work shift so as to ensure the operation surface clean A large scale cleaning should be carried out for the entire machine each month such as each roll of the machine dust and oil waste on the axes so as to ensure the clean of the appearance of the machine 5 2 Machine Lubricating TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 20 4 2 1 Anvil roll bearing lubrication Location See Location See left picture Brand ESSO RONEX MP RONEX Lubrication period Once a week Notice 1 The service and maintenance as specified in the guidance book provided by the manufacturer shall be provided for the decelerator applied in the machine 2 The entire check and adjustment whether the screw is loose or not the external cover is distorted or not and whether it interferes with the transmission parts or not shall be performed for the machine once it is applied for a month The worn and torn parts shall be replaced belt and air pipe 5 3 Anvil Cover Replacement TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 23 The anvil cover will become worn after it is used for a period of time When the thickness of the anvil cover is worn and by 6mm in thickness that is when the thickness 3 6mm it is necessary to replace it Remove the worn anvil cover a First pry the right cover b Screw the clamp screw out c Rotate the anvil roll and take down the first cover d Do as above to take down the second until the last Note You are not allowed to pry the anvil cover from other place or the iron plate behind the cover will be distorted Install new anvil cover a Clean the anvil roller b Place the new cover with installation iron plate downward and make them circle the anvil roll Use the screw to fix the anvil roll to the groove on the right side of the anvil roll close to the operation panel As indicated in the figure c Rotate the anvil roll manually and strike the anvil cover with plastic hammer so as to make it against closely to the anvil roll and make the two ends of the anvil roll touch against each other Continue to strike so as to make the both ends of the cover connect well to be closely installed in the groove of the anvil roll As indicated in the figure Strike it slightly and carefully adjust anvil roll axile location d Do as above for installation the second third and finally the last anvil cover Adjust the anvil cover axile location to make all covers against each other e It is necessary to regrind the newly installed anvil cover The die cutting processing may be performed only after the regrinding operation is completed 5 4 Tension of scrap conveyance belt BoltNutSupport plateScrews plate Conveyance belt TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 24 The scrap produced by die cutting falls onto the scrap conveyance belt below the die cutter unit will be further conveyed to the scrap conveyance machine by the belt The scrap will be discharged out of the work site for further treatment After long time operation it is easy for the worn and torn belt to become loose and it can t convey the scrap successfully In such situation it is necessary to tighten the scrap conveyance belt Ways to tighten Loosen the 4 set screws on the tension plates as indicated in the above figure and the anti loose nut rotate the bolt until the belt reaches the appropriate tension it is ok when the belt doesn t slide Tighten the 4 set screws and the anti loose screws Note while tightening the scrap conveyance belt the adjustment should be made on both sides simultaneously accordingly It is strictly forbidden to adjust only one side When the belt can t be tightened due to excessive abrasion new scrap conveyance belt should be applied in no delay 5 5 Tightening of the driving flat belt TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 25 Import assembly is used to tighten the driving flat belt The flat belt is in tightening state when the pulley moves up and down in the dedicated range with the anvil roll The flat belt belongs to the consumable part It will be worn after a long time use and can not work properly And now you must replace it The replacing process is very simple and the step is 1 Remove the plug for the electromagnetic clutch 2 Take off the old belt 3 Put the new belt 4 Plug into the plug socket 5 6 Pull collar position adjusting TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 27 1 Long rack 2 Small rack 3 Clamp screw 4 Compression spring 5 Spring bush 6 Feeding roll 1 5 2 34 6 TOPRA GD 1224 1228 Die cutter unit 28 As indicated in the above figure forcibly rotate the pull collar anticlockwise The compression spring will be compressed the small rack will be separated from the long rack and then the operator may move the pull collar to the required position Release the pull collar in the proper position The pull collar turn clockwise with the spring force until the small rack and the long rack engage together Now the pull collar hold against the feeding roll completely Tighten or loose the clamp screws you can adjust the flexibility of the compression spring so that the operator may feel comfortable while moving pull collar position The flexibility of the compression spring has been set to its best value by the technicians before it is delivered out of the factory No
