Master the language points. 难点 Learn to make comparisons and discuss preference.学情分析1. In unit 3, students have learnt comparative forms, which is the base for unit 4 superlative forms.2. Some students still cannot master comparative forms, they can master better by learning superlative forms in unit 4.3. Some students have difficulty in learning new words, especially in pronunciation. So teacher can read new words more. 教学准备A tape recorder, and PPT教学过程Step 1 warm-upGreet the class and review the comparative forms in unit 3. Discuss something about movie theaters. And the meaning of the movie theater is cinema.Step2 presentation1. Learn the new words.Use the question “how do you choose a cinema to go” to present some pictures of new words. Then ask students to read them after the teacher.Later, invite some students to read them, correct pronunciation mistakes if any.2. Teach Activity 1a(1)Before doing 1a, teacher make a conclusion of qualities of ”how to choose a good movie theater” with students.It hasIt is(2) ask students to decide which of the things are important and which are not important. Point to the two columns and ask students to write their answers there.3. Teach Activity 1b Before doing 1b, show some pictures to compare qualities of three movie theaters (the same names as 1b) and lead students to understand how to compare three things(1)point out the word qualities over the first column and movie theater over the second column in the chart. Tell students that they will hear three people talking about three movie theater.Point to the phrases under the word qualities and explain the meaning of them.Ask students to write the names of different movie theater there.(2)Play the recording the first time. Students only listen.Play the second time. Have students write the name of each movie theater on the blank line after its description.Then check the answer.At last, ask students to finish talking about Taian theater together.3. Teach Activity 1c(1) Read the instruction. Point out the sample conversation in the box.(2) Give students 5 minutes to practice with their partners like sample conversations.(3) Ask some pairs to practice in front of all student
