Increase andManual Decreasepush buttons.Pressing the Manual Startpush-button startsthe winchand energisesthe winchmotor.The HDWcontrols thesequence ofevents andmonitors the system for any faultor abnormality.The looptension canthen beincreased by pressing theManualIncrease push-button ordecreased by pressing theManual Decreasepush-button.The ManualIncreasepush-button isinhibited attensions measuredby theload cell.The HDWreads theset pointvalue from the Startand Runvalues inthe program(typically50and40kN respectively).The winchis startedwhen the“Winch Run”contact isclosed fromthe beltstarter.This isnormally afterthe conveyorpre-start alarmhas soundedfor5seconds.The winchmotor isenergised thenthe winchcontroller adjuststhetensionto the start tension value.When the winch tension is within5kN of thestarttensionvaluefor2seconds the“Tension OK”contact closesto signalthe switchgearto startthe conveyordrive motors.120seconds afterthe conveyorstarts,the winchtension isdecreased isrequired.The belttension displayremains activeto allowan operatorto continueto observethe winch,but themotor anddrive systemis disabled.When thewinch entersthis standbymode itcontinues tomonitor the belttensionand will reactivate if thebelttension fallsoutside thedeadband.The reactivationtime forthewinchis lessthan3seconds toincrease ordecrease
