I teaching aims and demands1. knowledge and ability aimsa. key vocabulary : do homework, watch TV, eat dinner, read, talk on the phone and so on.target language: what are you doing? I am sleeping. whats he/she doing? he/she is reading.what are they doing? they are eating dinner.Is he/she writing? yes, he/she is. no, he/she is notb. ask some students to do activities and ask the others to guess.c. play a film without sound and ask the students to add the sound.3. emotion attitude and values aims: to be a brave person. 4. teaching key points the present progressive tense., yes/no questions and short answers and be able to make a conversation with it. because the present progressive tense is the importance of the course in middle school.III. teaching difficulties :the forms of the present progressive tense: be doing and ask them not to forget “be”. in my teaching life, i know that the students often lose the verb“be”.1. teaching aids: a tape recorder, a computer and a big screena computer can carry lots of information and it can show many interesting pictures to the students. it can make the students more interested in learning english and get better results.teaching procedurestep 1 greetingtask 1. Introduce myself to the students.(make a communication with the students to make them like me )task 2. make free talks with the students, like nice to meet you ! may I know your name? do you like English? what are you going to be when you grow up ? and so on.(make a communication with the students will make them like me )step 2 pre-tasktask .1 revise some verb phrases and teach the new word “clean” by slides and add clean the blackboard and the classroom.then have a brainstorm.(revise the phrases to make the teaching smooth. its the preparation for this lesson. )task 2 tell the students the main task“talk about what people are doing”.step 3 while-tasktask .1 present the new language1. pretend to sleep and ask “what am I doing?”then answer“Im sleeping.”by myself. at the same time write the sentences on the blackboard and ask the students to repeat2 repeat with walking and running.3 ask the students “what are you doing?”and help the students answer.4. add “whats he/she doing ?”and “what are they doing?”by the slides.task. 2 activities 1a and 1b. ask some students to read the phrases and match the words with the activities in 1a. play the tape and ask the students to write numbers in 1b. work in pairs to practice the language with “he, she and they”by the pictures . play a game called “passing the flower”to report their conversation.(improve the students listening skills.)5. ask some students to pretend to do an activity and the rest of the class will guess what the activity is. the students who gives the correct answer can do the next activity.(the activities can make them more interested in english and make the lesson more happytask. 3 activity 2c : guess. show the pictures about Nancy and ask “Is Nancy doing her homework?”.then show another one to answer it . repeat with Bill, Mary and tom.(the students will be glad to guess it and it can practice yes/ no questions.)step 4 post-task. play a piece of film without sound and ask the students to look at. ask the students to add the sound according to the film and ask some pairs to show it in the front.(this is the climax of the lesson )step 5 summary an
