What do you think of the character? What could you learn from the story?2) 能够用英语询问故事的开始、发展及后续等。能够对故事中的人物或情节发表一些简单的看法或观点。2. 情感态度价值观目标: 学习愚公,要学习他“主动挖山”的精神。在我们生活工作中存在着很多的“山”。在这些山的面前我们应该采取怎样的态度对待它?是通过“搬家”来避开它或找领导请求帮助;还是像愚公一样明知困难却迎难而上,凭借自己的力量勇敢的克服困难。愚公不畏艰险,不怕困难,勇敢面对的精神,正是值得我们所学习的。我们通过各种故事, 从中能体会到许多人生哲理, 使我们收益颇深。二、教学重难点1. 教学重点:1) 能读懂两篇简单的故事,并且能够从中体会到一些人生哲学。2)学会表达故事中的人物或情节,并发表一些简单的看法或观点。 2. 教学难点:能够简单的写一段文字,叙述一段小故事。三、教学过程Step 1 Lead in 1. 叙述愚公移山的故事,导入本单元主题。 Step 2 reading Passage 1 Once upon a time, a poor man was cutting a big piece of wood near a river. Suddenly his old axe fell into the water. He felt very sad because he lost his only axe. Then all at once a beautiful fairy came out and asked the man, “Whats the matter?” “I have lost my axe.” He said, “It fell into the water when I was cutting the wood.” The fairy showed him a gold axe and asked, “Is this yours?” “No.” said the man. The fairy then showed him a silver axe and asked again. “Is this yours?” “No.” again answered the man. Then he showed him the old axe. “Yes, thats mine.” called out the happy man. “I know it well enough.” Said the fairy, “I only wanted to see if you would tell me the truth, and now Ill give you the gold axe and the silver axe besides your own one.”1. Look at passage 1. Read it and answer the 5 questions T or F.(As they read, remind them to guess the meaning of the new words that they dont learn)Read the first time and tell T or F( )1. The man was poor, and he had nothing but an old ( )2. The old axe fell into the river when the man was cutting the wood.( )3. Check the answers and check if they had the proper guess of the new words.3. Read the passage again and discuss with your partner to answer the three questions.Read the second time and answer the following questions:1. Why could the old get all the axes?_2. What do you think of the poor man?_3. What can you learn from the story?_4. Discuss the passage and ask the students to talk about what they have learned from the story. Step 3 ReadingPassage 2 Once upon a time, there was a farmer. He was put into prison. One day, he got a letter from his wife. “Im worried about our farm,” she wrote. “Its time to plant potatoes, but I cant do all the digging by myself.” The farmer thought over and then had an idea. He wrote to his wife, “Dont dig the fields. This is where my gold is. Dont plant potatoes until I come home. A few days later, the farmer got another letter from his wife. It said, “Two days ago, about ten prison guards came to our fields. It looked as if they were looking for something. They have dug our field.” The farmer wrote to his wife at once. “Now you can plant our potatoes,” he wrote.1. Read passage 2 and try to write the main idea about each paragraph. While they are reading, try to guess the meaning of the new words.读短文,用一句话概况每段文章大意,不能超过10个单词。1.第一段_.2. 第二段_+_.3. 第三段_.4. 第四段_.5. 第五段_.2. Tell the students the answers and check if the students have the correct meaning of the new words. 3. Read the passage again and discuss the questions.讨论:What do you think of the farmer?_.4. Discuss the questions with the students and talk about what they have learned from the passage.Step 4. Reading tips:Ask the students learn to read the passage and they should know the skills of reading. Reading tips:1.读段首或者段末的句子,利用上下文或者已有的经验猜测生词的意思。2. 巧抓关联词,以理清文章层次和思路。3. 注意抓重点词汇及句式,为写作积累素材。Step 5. Warming up for writing:1. Review what we have learned from our Textbook and the two passages we have read today, especially the verbs and phrases.2. Correct some sentences with some mistakes. Tell the students try to avoid these mistakes. 改正句子:(1) As long as try, you will make it happen._(2)You can make friends with you like people._(3) Get on with others is easy but sometimes difficult._Step 6. Writing:Before writing, learn some skills of writing and tell the students some tips.Writing tips:1.注意时态语序等语法,避免中式英语。2. 注意使用连接词,使文章逻辑层次分明,条理清楚。 如: 表示罗列顺序的:first,then, next, finally, 表示过渡或者递进的:also,表示正反对立的:on the one hand, on the other hand, 表结果转折的: so, but, Writing practice: 华盛顿(Washington)小时候他的爸爸在花园里中了许多花草树木。有一天他爸爸给他买了一把斧子, 他很喜欢,想要试试斧子锋利不锋利(sharp), 就拿着斧子砍了一下院子里的樱桃树(cherry tree), 斧子很锋利,树倒了。爸爸回来很生气,问大家是谁干的,华盛顿勇敢的承认了,爸爸很高兴因为他是个诚实的孩
