各大學收生計分方法(DSE).hk/en/j4/faqs/institutions1. HKUAll students must satisfy the University and programme entrance requirements. The general principle of considering the total score of your 4C+2X in the selection, some of the programmes will look at the total score of your best 5 subjects plus bonus points for the 6th subject. The combination of your best 5 subjects does not mean 4C+1X; instead, it can be 3C+2X, or even 2C+3X (if you have done more than 2 electives)! Some HKU programmes give a slightly heavier weighting to certain DSE subjects. None of these weightings, however, will exceed 1.5 (times the HKDSE Level score), so they only give a small advantage to students with good Level scores in those subjects. The table shows the subjects that carry the somewhat heavier weightings:The scoring system that we adopt acknowledges outstanding results by giving extra points to 5* and 5* subjects:Level123455*5*1234567(http:/www.als.hku.hk/admission/local/dse2012)2. CUHKFor a student who has sat Mathematics Extended Part Module I or II (M1 or M2), if the HKDSE result in M1 or M2 is better than the result of the best elective subject, the best Elective Subject and the M1 or M2 will each carry 50% weight the calculation of the admission score. In other words, good performance in M1 or M2 may boost the admission score while poor performance will not drive it down.In addition, students should note that specific programmes at CUHK(including some programmes in the Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Engineering, and Faculty of Science)require students to have taken M1 or M2 as their programme requirements. Students are free to choose either M1 or M2. They should also note that faculties/ programmes may assign heavier weightings to specific New Senior Secondary subjects in calculating the admission scores.Level points where Level 5*=6, 5*=5, 5=4, 4=3, 3=2, 2=1 and 1 or below=0.Calculation of Admission Scores :Grade Points attained in 4C + 1X + bonus points ( 6th and/or 7th subjects)5Programmes with Heavier WeightingsProgramme / StreamHKDSE SubjectsChinese Language and LiteratureChineseMusic1st elective (Music is preferred)TranslationEnglish, ChineseB.A. and B.Ed. PolyUThe Admission Score, which forms the basis for initial prioritization, will be calculated for each applicant based on the results he / she obtained in the 4 core HKDSE subjects and the best elective, with weightings applied. Please refer to the following example for details:HKDSESubjectsLevel Attainment(Converted Point for Subject Score Calculation)*Subject WeightingSubject ScoreSubjects Counted in Admission ScoreCoreChinese5 (4)X7=28English4 (3)721Mathematics4 (3)1030Liberal Studies2 (1)77ElectivePhysics3 (2)X10#=20Biology4 (3)515Admission Score = 106* For the purpose of calculating the admission score, HKDSE level attainments will be converted to level points where Level 5*=6, 5*=5, 5=4, 4=3, 3=2, 2=1 and 1 or below=0. Core subjects as specified in the University General Entrance Requirements will be given a weighting of at least 7 whilst preferred subjects will be given a weighting of “10”. # Assuming “Physics” has been specified as a preferred subject. All HKDSE applicants will initially be prioritized based on the Admission Score. For applicants with the same admission score, programmes will make reference to their Reference Score which is an aggregation of all HKDSE subject results with subject weightings applied, other experiences & achievements (OEA), interview / test performance, if any, and other information such as school reference report to determine their order in the priority list. Students not meeting the level requirement of the elective subject may be specially considered if they have attained Level 2 or above in one of the Extended Modules of Mathematics. If students already have an elective subject at Level 2, the Extended Modules of Mathematics will be taken into account for the Reference Score. Extra elective subj. will only be counted in the additional Reference Score which takes all subj. into account.QUE: What is the weighting of extra subjects and M1M2 in the calculation of Reference Score ?(.hk/as/hkdse/faq.html)5. CityUPreference may be given to students with higher band choices. Adjustment may also be made based on interview performance, if applicable. For students with the same score, reference will be made to other information (eg. English results, results in discipline-related subjects, band, interview performance, OEA).JUPAS Code & College/SchoolWeighted Admission Score for 1st ConsiderationOther ConsiderationsNo. of subj.Subject WeightingChiEngMat(Compulsory Part)L.S.1st Elective2nd ElectiveJS1001College of Business (CB)4 core +1 elective subjects121.511-Click HEREJS1011College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences (CLASS)4 core +1 elective subjects1211.51-Click HEREJS1021College of Science & Engineering (Engineering)(CSE-ENG)4 core +1 elective subjects121.511.5 for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Combined Science, ICT1 for other electives-Click HEREJS1031College of Science & Engineering (Science)(CSE-SCI)4 core +1 elective subjects121.511.5 for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Combined Science1 for BAFS, ICT1 for other electives-Click HEREJS1041School of Creative Media (SCM)4 core +2 elective subjects12111 forl ICTl Visual Arts0.5 for other electivesClick HEREJS1051School of Energy and Environment(SEE)4 core +1 elective subjects122.511.5 for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Science (Combined)1 for other electives-Click HEREJS1061 School of Law (SLW)4 core +2 elective subjects111111Click HERENote: Elective subjects exclude Applied Learning subjectsScoring ScaleCore and Category A Elective SubjectsLevel5*5*54321Score7654321ExampleSubjectsHKDSE ResultsWeighted Admission Score(score x weighting)CBCLASSCSE -ENGCSE - SCISCMSEESLWChineseLanguage33 x 1 3 x 1 3 x 1 3 x 1 3 x
