The contents: This text is about Zhan Tianyou. Let the students know about Zhan Tianyou built Jingzhang Railroad, and he is our national hero.2. The teaching aims:(1) The aims of knowledge:A)The students will be able to grasp the words and the useful expressions.B)The students will be able to grasp these kinds of sentences: What do you think of ?/ When did he work on it?/Why didnt they want them? And so on.(2) The aims of abilities:A)The students will be able to understand conversations about Zhan Tianyou.B)The students will be able to get special information from the listening passage.C)The students will be able to talk about heroes with wh-questions. (3)The aim of the emotion: help students know that we should respect the heroes. 3.Teaching importance:Using Part 2 to develop the students abilities of listening and speaking.4.Teaching difficulties: How to answer wh-questions.Next, the teaching methods:I will use task-teaching to make the students listen, speak, practice and sum up.Then, the teaching aids:The tape recorder, VCR and PPT.Finally, the teaching steps:Step 1:Warm up1.Play the VCR about Zhan Tianyou.2.Show some pictures of the new words.3.Ask the students to fill in the blanks.4.Show the teaching aims.Step 2:Showing the teaching aims Step3:Presentation (Type One questions)Complete the passage with these words. First show the words and sentences on the screen to practice listening.Step43:Listen and read(Because the dialog is a little long, I divide the dialog into two parts to reduce the difficulties. Play the tape.) First, make the students fill in the blanks to remember the words and the useful expressions while they are listening. Second, make the students read the dialog on the screen to practice speaking.Step 5: Practice The students answer the questions below in pairs:(Type Two questions)1. What did Zhan Tianyou do?2. When did Zhan Tianyou die?3. Where did the railroad start?4. What did the Chinese do when he died?5. Where did it finish?6. Why didnt the government want foreign engineers?7. When did Zhan Tianyou work on it?( Play the tape again to improve the students ability of listening.)Step 6: CompetitionDivide the students into six groups. Then they will have a competition to read the dialog. Praise the winners, and dont forget to encourage the losers.( Boys and girls like games, so I think this activity can make the students enjoy the happiness of learning English. Whats more, it can develop speaking ability.)Step 7: ConsolidationShow pictures to consolidate the Wh-questions according to the information given.Step 8: Sum up Ask the students questions like: who did we learn today? What did he do? When did he work on it?
