英语七年级(下)人教版Go for itUnit 10 Id like some noodles.Section A 西工大附中分校 何萍Analysis of the teaching material Unit 10 focuses on the different kinds of food and the use of “would like”, and also it presents the way to order the food and learn to make a conversation between a waiter or a waitress and customers. So in this part Ss learn new words about food and also learn the culture in a foreign restaurant.Warming up is a very important part in English teaching. New Curriculum Standard requires that students should get some kinds of information, enlarge their vocabulary, learn about English culture, and develop their communicative skills.Analysis of the students:Students in Grade 7 are eager to get new information. They are interested in the food they would like to have in the daily life. So they must like the topic of this unit. Because they have learnt some about food in Year A, its not difficult for them to talk about food. They are familiar with the topic and they know a little about “would like”. It is very difficult for the Ss to make up a conversation between a waiter/a waitress and custom in authentic English. They need some knowledge about eating-out customs and cultures.Teaching aimsAccording to my understanding of the material and students, I establish the following teaching aims:1.【Knowledge Objectives】Students can learn some new words and phrases.2.【Ability Objectives】Students can develop their communicative skills.3.【Moral Objectives】Students can build up their self-confidence and learn how to cooperate with others well.Type of lesson: A new lessonClass period: 40 minutesImportant points: 1. Ss learn to use “would like”;2. Ss learn to use some new words about food;3. Greetings and revision:Ask: What do you have for breakfast, lunch or dinner?Do you usually go out for dinner? And Where?1. Greet the Ss and askabout their breakfast.2. Ask them to revise words they learned about food.They answer Ts questions by using what they learnt in the past.Its designed to help Ss review words about food and arouse their interests in what they are learning in this period.Step 2 Lead-inTalk about the picture about Lao Zhang and his noodle house.Ask : What does the noodle house sell?Show pictures to Ss and get Ss to learn the new words about main food, vegetables and drinks.And guide Ss how to use “would like”They learn and read the words after teacher and try to spell them and give the plural forms of countable nouns.Its designed to help Ss learn new words and expressions and get Ss to focus on the important language points.Step 3. Presentation:1. Get the Ss to talk about food like this:2. And then get Ss to talk about what kind of noodles and what size bowl of noodles I /you/he/she/they would like.3. Present the new language points:- I would like some noodles.- Would you like some noodles?- Yes, please./ No, thanks.Step 4 Practice.1. Get Ss to listen to the tape and Do 1b.2. Get Ss to read the listening tape scripts in 1b. 3. Get Ss to listen to 2a/2b and then recite the conversation.4. Get Ss to make a conversation between a waiter and a customer.5.Get Ss to do some Exx.Step 5 Summary 1. The words about food and group the words into C n or U n.2. The use of would like VII HomeworkAsk your parents what they like for three meals, and write a short passage about their eating habits. -What would you like? Id like - What would she like? Shed like - What would they like? Theyd like Lead Ss to learn how to use “would like”Lead students to learn to watch and analyze by themselves.Listen and check the noodles that the person orders.Read and underline something difficult.Ask Ss to read the picture first and then read the words given in 2a. Then play the tape and get Ss to catch the words they hear.Check the answers.Listen to themcarefully and give them some comments. Then walk around the classroom and give help if necessary.Get Ss to do Exx to use what they learn in this period.Ask questions about what we learn and write them down on the Bb.Read the homework to the Ss and guide them how to write.They are able to tell what they would like according to the illustration.Most students follow and practice the key words.Students do what the teacher guides them to do.Check the answers and correct the answers.They will read the conversation very well. And they will tell their opinions frankly. Look at the picture and read the information given in 2a/2b, then listen and answer the questions.
