Lead-in 1. Questions: Have you ever been to Singapore ? What do you know about Singapore ?2. Play a short clip: Know about the background information about SingaporeII. While readingFast-reading:1. Scan for the key words of each paragraph to have a general understanding of the passage. 2. Show the reading strategy:Scanning.3. Scan again for the detailed information about Singapore and fill in the chart,including location, weather, population,language,food, the Night Safari. 4.Add two more questions while checking answers:When shall we visit Singapore ? /Why do more and more Chinese tourists come to visit Singapore ? Detailed-reading:1. Para.2: What kind of food can we eat there ? Read and retell according the tree mind map2. Para. 3 Watch a group of pictures and have a vivid expression of the special place-the Night Safari. Answer questions: What can people do there? What differences between the normal zoo and the Night Safari? 3. Conclude: What is Singapore like?Find out the topic sentences and fill in the blanks.Singapore is a/an _ place to _. 4. Retell & reflection Retell with the help of the chart. Reflect with the help of the mind map and compare with the chart-retelling. Reflect and answer:What aspects can we talk about ?III. Try to be the best tour guide and introduce a wonderful city or country from different aspects(方面), draw a mind map if possible.
