Unit 6 I am going to study computer science(Section A)后官寨初中 李丽.Teaching material analysis(教材分析)This lesson is chosen from PEP (Go for it) English book of junior high school, the first semester of grade8, Unit 6. The main topic of this unit is about professions. After students finished this lesson, they could understand the usage of the basic structure of simply future tense “be going to” and know clearly their dream jobs. Only after learning this lesson, can students learn the following lessons, such as the usage of “will”, the other way to express simple future tense, so this lesson is quite important to their further study. The analysis of students(学情分析).Our students are in Grade 8. Because we are rural middle school, (Students hardly learn English in primary school.) They have learnt English for just 2 years, but they have got some basic skills of studying English. However, speaking ability still needs to be developed. Thus the teacher should provide them more chances to practice speaking ability. Teaching aims(教学目标):1.Knowledge aims(知识目标)(1)Master the following words: computer programmer, cook, doctor, engineer, violinist, driver, pilot, pianist, scientist, etc(2)Students can use the simple future tense “be going to” to make sentences correctly.(3)Sentence patterns - What do you want to be when you grow up?- I am going to be a computer programmer.- How are you going to do that?-I am going to study computer science. 2. Ability aims(能力目标): (1)Students can use the target language in a different context.(2)Students can talk about their dream jobs freely. 3 Emotional aims(情感目标): (1) Can improve the confidence of learning English, and not afraid of speaking English in class; (2) Can cooperate with others actively, and complete the tasks together. key points and difficulties: (1) The usage of simple future tense. (2) Students can use“What are you going to be when you grow up? and How are you going to do that?”talk about dream jobs.Teaching procedures Step1 Warming up Step2 RevisionThe teacher wrote some phrases on the paper, and ask some student to act them out, others guess what are the phrases and spell them. Step3 Presentation 1. Show some pictures, let students guess who are they and what is his or her job? 2. Divide them into two groups (boys and girls), let them write as many jobs as they can on the blackboard. 3. Teaching new sentence patterns. - What do you want to be when you grow up?- I am going to be a computer programmer.4. Play a game ,In order to let students practice conversation freely.Step4.ConsolidationPair work- What do you want to be when you grow up?- Im going to be a computer programmer.- How are you going to do that?-Im going to study computer science.Step5 Do a survey Work in groups, ask their dream jobs in groups, the team leader give us a report.Step6 Summary and HomeworkAsk students what have they learnt in this lesson, then let them remember all the words about the jobs, continue practice the sentence patterns.Step7 Blackboard design- What do you want to be when you grow up?- Im going to be a computer programmer.- How are you going to do that?-Im going to study computer science. 教学评价:本节课主要学习职业名称和谈论对有关职业的将来规划。在教学中,我力争突出以学生为主的特点,通过预设不同的环节让大多数学生都能有表达交流的机会,并让他们在参与的过程中,体味成功,从而激发他们的学习潜能。我通过大量呈现图片,生动的直观的向同学们介绍了各种职业单词,并创设了相应的情境,让他们相应的即时操练,通过游戏练习对话,同桌之间练习,小组内操练巩固等形式。整个操作过程一环套一环,环环相扣。因为本节课所学的内容离同学们的生活比较贴近,梦想中的工作,所以同学们都比较感兴趣,整堂课学生热情高涨。 教学反思:由于学生水平参差不齐,特别是农村中学的学生视野还比较狭小,对某些职业还感到陌生,这在一定程度上有影响了学生设计未来职业的丰富性,同时也影响了课堂交流内容的深度。也有一部分学生在口语表达及参与积极性方面都有待提高。羞于表达,长此以往成为
