(10分)完形填空 Christopher Wilson, a Texas-based DJ and producer, is better known by his stage name, Riot Ten. But whats unbelievable about him and his familys journey is that he has never let negative situations shake or shape his direction. From a young age, Wilson knew he wanted to go for1. When dropping out at seventeen and having little family support, he still started his career as an uphill battle.Thinking positive, thinking big is huge for success, he said, Ive always imagined myself rich, successful and at the top of everything I did. I really believe in positivity. That positive energy shows itself in work and opportunities.Wilson took this energy and ran with it, slowly building a career and name for himself in the music industry, despite criticism from others, financial (money) challenges and the difficulty of 2both his duties as a father, and his great love for making music. With the birth of Wilsons second child, Kai, however, both his positive attitude and career were3dramatically.On September 3, 2017, Kai was born-weighing less than two pounds and with a large welt on the side of his head. Kai was said to have less than a 50% chance of living, and if he did live, there was a 50% chance hed have cerebral palsy (脑性瘫痪). For Wilson, this was terrifying -the unknown, the fear of 4his child. He also felt the powerlessness in watching Kai struggle to5on his own. Wilson was then told Kai was missing a part of his brain, something that would affect all motor skills. He had no 6; he just had to wait. But even in the moments of fear, of helplessness, of pain, Wilson kept positive. He kept creating, kept believing and kept moving forward. In the course of a few months, he had answers. Kai didnt have cerebral palsy, and he would survive. After one month of a breathing tube, Kai was able to breathe on his own, and even began to show7baby behavior.Ive always thought everything happens for a reason, Wilson says, Kai probably shouldnt be alive, and he somehow made it. And everything we expected to happen- his coming out 8, not having cerebral palsy, being able to breathe on his own- it all worked out. Theres a plan for everything. Its this attitude that has 9Riot Ten to success. He released his second EP (唱片), Hype or Die: The Dead EP on February 16, 2017, and his song, Rail Breaker has hit No.1 on all dubstep charts. No matter what life throws at us, Wilson has continued to stay positive and share his passion for music with the world.(1)A . money B . painting C . music D . health (2)A . avoiding B . sharing C . shouldering D . balancing (3)A . quickened B . strengthened C . challenged D . changed (4)A . missing B . losing C . hurting D . refusing (5)A . breathe B . sing C . think D . work (6)A . answers B . dreams C . doubts D . questions (7)A . normal B . strange C . good D . curious (8)A . healthy B . happy C . inspired D . humorous (9)A . driven B . compared C . followed D . introduced 六、 阅读理解(本题有10小题,每小题2分;共计20分) (共3题;共20分)20. What one person considers a priceless masterpiece others might see as nothing more than a giant black square. But theres one very specific kind of painting that almost everyone sees the same way-the kind with the strange eyes that seem to follow you around the room. So what causes this optical illusion (视觉错觉) and how do artists achieve this effect? It turns out, for even a moderately skilled artist, this effect isnt a difficult thing to achieve, In fact, the artists need to use a little illusion of depth, making the person depicted on the canvas appears somewhat 3D on a 2D canvas, and to adjust .the gaze (凝视) of the eyes so that they would be looking at someone standing right in front of the picture. So what exactly is going on here in our brains that then makes it seem like the eyes follow you even if you move away from being front and center? As demonstrated by a team of researchers from Ohio State University, as you move to the side, the near? and far points of the 2D image dont really change. These near and far points are defined as visible points that, if the image was 3D, would appear nearest and furthest away from the viewer at a given angle. The idea is simple. No matter what angle you look at a paining from, the painting itself doesnt change. Youre looking at a flat surface. The key is that the near points and far points of the picture remained the same no matter the angle the picture was viewed from. When observing real surfaces in the natural environment the near and far points vary when we change viewing direction. When we observe a picture on the wall, the visual information that defines near and far points is unaffected by viewing direction. Still, we willingly accept and interpret the thing in the painting as if it were a real object. Thus, because the perspective, shadows, and light on the painting dont change as you move around, if the eyes in the painting would be staring directly at the observer who is standing in front of the painting, it creates something of an optical illusion in your brain so that the eyes will continue to seem to stare at you as you move to the side.In contrast to the eyes following you trick, if the artist tweaks the painting a bit, for example the artist adjusts the gaze of the eyes so that the eyes are looking off somewhere else instead of directly looking at a potential observer, no matter where you stand, the eyes will never seem to be looking at you.The technique first began popularly showing up in art around the 14th century when the artist and architect Fillipo Brunelleshi introduced the art world to the idea of linear perspective, being painting with the idea of everything in the picture converging (聚集) on a specific point on the horizon, creating the illusion of depth. Linear perspective, combined with skilled use of light and shadow, allows artists to create masterfully realistic paintings, including sometimes of people that stare at you creepily no matter where you stand.(1)Whats the writers purpose of writing Paragraph 1? A . To lead in the question why staring eyes seem to follow us in a painting,B . To make a comparison between a priceless masterpiece and a black square.C . To introduce the topic that the optical illusion can make the painting look real.D . To prove that people can think alike when they admire a certain kind of painting.(2)What can we learn from the passage? A . The visible points of the image wont change in the natural environment.B . The near and far points of a painting are affected by our viewing direction.C . The viewing direction of viewers can make the image in the painting look tealD . The optical illusion in our brain makes us feel the eyes in the painting staring at us.(3)The 3rd paragraph is mainly about _.
