Unit 3 How do you get to school?Section B (2a-2c)By Zhou Xiyun from Fasi Middle School The Analysis of Teaching Material The main topic of unit 3 is transportation. This lesson is the fifth period of this unit. It is a reading passage. It plays a very important part in the English teaching of this unit. Students can learn more about how some village students get to school, we should improve their reading ability and receive moral education. According to the new standard curriculum, in the reading process I will make students the real masters while the teacher acts as a director and focus on students long-term development and enable them to use proper reading strategies.The Analysis of the studentsStudents have learned many ways of transportation in the first few lessons of this unit. But they may not know so many new words of the passage. Some students may not be active because they may be afraid of making mistakes.Teaching Aims1.KnowledgeObjects: To learn some new words: cross, river, many, village, villager, between, bridge betweenand, , boat, ropeway, year, afraid, like, dream, come true To learn some structure: Its +adj +to do sth ; be like.To understand the main idea of the text .2. Ability Objects: To identify the general idea of the passage . To develop the students abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.To practice finding out the detailed information . 3. Emotion Objects: To encourage the students to do something to help the people in need , To encourage the students to have dreams and work hard to achieve their dreams . Teaching Important Points To help students grasp the new words and structures.To understand the text better .Teaching Difficult PointsTo find out the detailed information .
