Reading Report During my extracurricular time, I started reading The Red and The Black. It was a typical and fundamental European work of criticism and realism which was released in the 19th century .I like reading attitude to bestseller since I cant ,and cant be like that unbridled fiction was noncommittal on that .Im in with the mind talking with that era ,the key is in history outside of the inquiry and thinking. The author Marie-Henri Beyle (January 23, 1783 March 23, 1842) was better known by his pen name Stendhal. He was a 19th-century French writer. He was known for his acute analysis of his characters psychology, and he is considered one of the earliest and foremost practitioners of realism in his two novels .The Red and the Black and The Charterhouse of Parma. The book is divided into 4 parts. Now let me tell you the first part of this famous book. The small town of Verrieres is located in the hillside. There is a beautiful river called Doubs .There are many wood factories stand on the bank of the river. The mayor is a noble blood man, who is very tall. A full metal hang on his chest. He is about 50 years old. His house is very large. There is the most beautiful garden .His wife is beautiful and rich, but his talent is shortage, “the wit of this man does not go beyond make sure he is paid on the dot whatever is owed to him, and leaving it to the last possible moment to pay back what himself owes ”. In the city, there is an important person. He is the beggar shelter director Mr. Wa. He spent ten thousand to twenty two thousand francs to get this position. He has a powerful physique, palm face, black and thick mustache. The others think he is a lady-killer, even the mayor fear him. But the mayor determined to please a tutor in order to show their superior. The carpenters son is proficient in Latin, who is named Julien. He was elected as the tutor of the mayor . He is about 18 years old , long slight and comedy. He has two big and black eyes. In tranquil, as if his eyes will shot the glory of the fire, but for a instant, his eyes appeared the terrible hatred. Because he held the book all day, and don not like to do the physical work, it always make other people hate him. Even it will lead his family to beat him. As a child, he was crazy about Napoleon. He was eager to be a person like napoleon and do the master of the world. He thinks Nopoleon “He was only wearing swords became the master of the world”. But then he is studying the theology. He trust in remarkable memory to put the Latin bible full back down, this matter a sensation in the city. The mayors beautiful wife grew up in the monastery. She hates the man who is rough. Since there is no love, she draw her all attention on raising her three children. She thinks him In fact, he is a girl” pretends the man. But she find him is so soft and moving. She thinks Julien is a good and have a good impression on him. Even thinks “ besides money, power, medal of greed, the man is petrified for everything. She is fall in love with Julien, but at the time, the servant whose name is Elisa also loved him. Elisa received a heritage and want to thank the Catholic father conveys her love to Julien. But Julien refuse her love. When the wife knew it, she is very surprised. She find herself have a special feelings to Julen. In summer, the mayor moves to a country garden to live. When they are enjoying the night, they feel very happy. Julien touched the wifes hands inadvertently. The wife shrank back suddenly. It makes Julien thinks that the wife look down upon him. Julien determined to have to hold this hand. The next night, he do it. He hold the wifes hands tightly. It satisfied his proud. The wife does not get any sleep that night because of love, morality and responsibility. She decides to use cold manner to treat Julien. When Julien isnt at home, she cant help thinking him.At the same time, Julien becomes more brave, he thought to himself in his heart “I owe it to myself all the time to succeed with this woman, continued my petty vanity. Since if ever I make my fortune, and the humble job of tutor is held against me, I shall be able to insinuate that cast me that role.”Two oclock at night Julien break into her room. At first, she is very angry for his rude behavior, but when she sees his eyes full of tears, she begins to sympathize with it. She thinks to herself, it is excellent to meet Julien 10 years ago if it is possible. But, she does not have this idea in her heart completely. His love completely beyond the ambition, possessive and generate enthusiasm. He is so poor and so noble, beautiful,. He has the gift of God.Soon after, the emperor arrived here. Under the arrangement of the wife, Julien joins the guard, it makes him show himself in public. During the meeting, Julien takes part in the memorial ceremony. After that, he thinks, if there is a position of eminence, he prefers to suffer from difficulties in order to get the position. The wifes little son is dying, and she thinks this is a kind of punishment of God for her immoral behavior. And then she get into a terrible confessionIn my opinion, Julien is delicate and sensitive extremely. In the mayors home tutor, Julien through brilliantly recite Latin Saint won the de Ruina a down sit up and take notice, more with his handsome looks, juvenile pride moved the wifes heart. And Julien must prove something psychological, looking at her, as if he is the enemy, he was going forward and her fight against . . That is, the strange Julien seize the readers he
