Teaching procedures:Step 1 Lead-in:Some pictures about yard sales are shown on the PPT and the Ss are asked to guess what the pictures are about. And then ask the Ss how much they know about yard sale and what is the meaning of yard sale.设计意图:让学生通过观察图片中的人物和地点等初步感知yard sale,同时激发学生的学习兴趣。Step 2 Free talk:1. Why are the sales called “yard sales”?2. Why do people like to buy things in a yard sale?3. What kinds of things do people sell in a yard sale?设计意图:让学生通过带有问题的自由讨论加深自己对于yard sale的认识,活跃课堂气氛。Step 3 Fast reading Skim the article written by a father for a newspaper and match each paragraph with the main ideas.Paragraph 1A.
