In this lesson I am going to try time clues to develop the students ability to tell a story.2. Im also going to use the realia to elicit the topic “a practical joke” and arouse the students interest.Assumptions What your students already know (about the language, an activity, the topic) that will help them in this lesson1. This is a funny story featuring a practical joke which attracts the students.2. The students have been familiar with the words related to the story.Class profile and Timetable Fit Information about your class: age, level, number, motivation, etc. and how this lesson fits with previous and future lessonsThis is a class of 39 senior two students, who range in age from 16 to 17. At the beginning of this term the students were regrouped according to their majors. The class is totally new to me and I have been teaching them for only three weeks, so we are in the process of further acquaintance. Most of the students are willing to actively participate in the activities and have a desire to express themselves in English. But still there are some whose English are not so satisfactory. The average level is between pre-intermediate and intermediate. The theme of this lesson is “A practical joke” from unit 2. This unit is about laughter. It has a funny story about a practical joke for the Reading passage, and a leaflet introducing the benefits of laughter for the More reading passage. The Listening section helps the students learn how to recognize wh-questions in conversations. Both the Speaking and the Writing sections are closely related to the skill of developing a story. In this lesson, students will get the general idea of the story by reading skills. Meanwhile they will develop their speaking skill by retelling the story and share their interesting stories. The students are at the beginning of unit 2. I will teach the whole unit within 5 days (5x45 minutes: lexis / reading skills / listening skills / grammatical input / writing skills.VocabularyForm?
