(Answers can be different) -Can you play the guitar ? -Yes,I can./No,I cant.-What can you do? - I can dance.-What club do you want to join?-I want to join the chess club.Listening:The teacher prepares a short passage including the things the teacher can do and the things the teacher cant do. The teacher can read the passage to the students.Talk something about the passage“Can you play pingpong?” “Can you swim?”,if the answer is right,the student shows a card with smiling face to him or her, if the answer isnt right, the student shows a card with sad face to him or her. Step2:Learn the new words and phrases.The teacher shows some flash cards .T:Look at the flash cards and listen “He can write.Can he write?Yes,he can.”Ask the students to guess which word well learn today.The students may answer “write”,its easy for studentsto guess which word it is.New words:write,talk,show,kungfu,or.The teacher can use this way to present the new words and phrases.Step3:GrammarFocus.Ask the students to read GrammarFocus.Read the text together.Boys read the left side,Girls read the right side. Exchange.Let the students translate GrammarFocus sentence by sentence. Teach the key points to students.Cannot=cant,the usage of want,joinStep4.Work on 3a and check the answers.Read through the passage and tell them how to do it.Check the answers.Step5.Work on 3b and check the answers.Step6.Work on 3c .Ask the students to make a survey.Work in groups and ask your friends 2 questions about “Can you ?”“What can you do?”Find a host to do 3c.The host may find some students who have special skills and ask the others to write down their names and the things they can do .Step7:Homework.Copy the new words and phrases.Recite GrammarFocus.Step8:Play a game.Ask 5students to come to
