Unit 9 What does he look like? 教学设计 1a-1c 一、Teaching Aims:1. Knowledge aims1. To learn the key words and target language, listen to and talk about what people look like.2. Ability aims To train students speaking skills and enable them to describe ones appearance. To train students listening skills. To train students skills of working in pairs.3. Emotional aims: To make students know everyone is special and dont judge people by appearance.二、Teaching Important & Difficult Points1. To help students master the words and sentences about appearance.2. To enable students to master the differences between is and has when they are used to describe ones appearance.三、Teaching Methods1. Learner-centered Teaching2. Task-based learning3. Communicative Language Teaching四、Teaching Aids In order to make my class interesting and lively, I will use a computer and a projector as my teaching aids.五、Teaching ProceduresStep 1 Lead-inFirst, I show some pictures of new words, and ask Ss to read them after teacher. Make sure most of students can master these words.Step 2 Presentation1. Show a picture of different heights. And show the target sentence “ What does he look like ?” Get students to use the words to answer What does .look like?Kobe is tall.Beckham is of medium height.Ma Yun is short. 2. Show pictures of different builds. Get students to use the words to answer What does .look like?Han Hong is heavy.Zheng Shuang is thin. 3. Show pictures of peoples hair. Get students to use the words to answer What does .look like? Li Yifeng has short hair. Angelebaby has long hair. Wang Fei has curly hair. Yang Mi has straight hair.Step 3 1a 1. Let students look at the picture on page 49 . Show the picture of 1a , and ask Ss to look at the picture carefully and answer the questions.1. How many people in the 1a ?2. Where are they?3. What is the girl a doing?After that, ask Ss to match the words with the people in the picture. You can use some letters more than once. Give Ss 1 minute to finish that, and then use the whole sentence to check the answers. For example, T : “ Who has short hair ? ” S: People e and f have short hair. Next, let Ss read these words again.Step 4 listening 1bLet students listen to 1b carefully, and fill in the blanks in the picture on page 49 and find Amys friend. Play the tape twice. The first time, students listen and fill in the blanks. The second time, ask Ss to write down the sentences for asking peoples appearance and the sentences for describing appearance.Step 5 Groupwork 1. Let two Ss read the conversation in 1c .A: What does your friend look like? B: She is of medium height, and she has long straight hair.2. Let Ss read the conversation after teacher. 3. Divide the whole class into two groups to do a role play. (Girls are A, and Boys are B.)Step6 Language pointsExplain the target language “ What does he look like ?” And tell Ss how to describe ones appearance. After that, let Ss understand that when we describe “height ” and “build ”, we should use “is/am/are”, but when we describe “hair”, we should use “have/has”.Step7 Guessing Game1. Show the picture of 1a. Tell Ss: one of people in 1a is your friend. describe your friend with your partners. And other Ss find him/her. Purposes 1.Train students communicative ability and improve the Ss ability of describing people.Step 8 Homework 1. Finish exercises in exercise book.2. Copy the new wo
