Unit 12 What did you do last weekend?Section A (1a-1c)Teaching Aims and Demands: 1. Knowledge and Ability Students will master the key words (camp, lake, beach, ) and sentences (What did you do last weekend?). They will be able to talk about the events that happened last weekend. Improve Ss listening and speaking skills. 2. Processes and Methods Teach new vocabulary through some pictures. Do some listening and speaking practice to consolidate the target language. 3. Emotion, Attitude and Value Educate Ss to arrange their weekend properly.Teaching Key Points: 1. Learn to talk about the past events. 2. Improve Ss listening and speaking skills.Teaching Difficult Point: Be able to talk about the events that happened last weekend flexibly.Teaching Aids: Multimedia and some PPTsTeaching Procedures: I. Greet the class as usual II. Lead-in1. Ask Ss some questions:What day is it today? (It is Monday.)What day was it yesterday? (It was Sunday.)What day was it the day before yesterday? (It was Saturday.)Then Teacher draw a time line on the blackboard and write these three days on the line.2. T: Yes, Saturday and Sunday are the weekend. But here is last weekend. So what did you do last weekend? (Write them on the blackboard.) 3. Give Ss several minutes to discuss it with their partners, then ask some Ss to answer it. III. Presentation1. Show some pictures and ask “What did he/she/they do last weekend?”2. Invite Ss to answer them, Teacher helps to correct them and teach the new words.3. Have Ss repeat the questions and answers after the teacher.4. Get Ss to focus on the pictures in 1a and ask them to match each activity with each picture. Then check the answers and have Ss pay attention to the past forms of the verbs. IV. Practice1. Section A 1b T: From Picture C, we know the girl played badminton on Saturday morning. When did she do other things? Lets listen and get the time. Explain the instructions.Play the recording twice, Ss listen and write.Correct the answers by inviting some Ss to give the answers.2. Section A 1c Have Ss to read the example conversation and then explain the instructions. Ask Ss to get ready for it in pairs. Invite some pairs to act it out for the whole class.V. Summary1. Show the key vocabulary on the blackboard and ask Ss to read them togethe
