Revision the sentences how often by talk two pictures about guitar and drums.3. Revision the phrases of unit2 by completing the sentences.Step2 lead-in1. Revise the adjectives by describing the pictures2. Match the words of 1a, then check the answers.Step3 presentation 1. show two pictures about Liu Xiang and Yao Ming and compare the height and the thing they are good at like this:(1) T: Liu Xiang is 1.88m.He is tall. Yao Ming is 2.26m. He is taller.so we can say: Yao Ming is taller than Liu Xiang. Let one student translate the sentences in Chinese. After that, let students read the sentence together. Then guide students to empress another way: Liu Xiang is taller than Yao Ming.(2)T: Liu Xiang plays basketball well. Yao Ming plays basketball better. Yao Ming runs fast, Liu Xiang runs faster. (Explain the word better) So we can say: Yao Ming plays basketball better than Liu Xiang. Liu Xiang runs faster than Yao Ming. Let students repeat .then let boys read them first then girls. Then ask one student: who reads better, boys or girls? Let all students say out: Boys red better than girls.2. Show another two pictures about Xiao Shenyang and Zhao Benshan and compare the personality of them and their action skills like this: T: Is Xiao Shenyang funny? Ss: Yes. T: Xiao Shenyang is funny, Zhao Benshan is funnier. (let ss repeat) so we can say: Zhao Benshan is funnier than Xiao Shenyang. Xiao Shenyang act well, Zhao Benshan acts better (let one student say it out).and let ss the whole sentences- Zhao Benshan acts better than Xiao Shenyang. Then read in groups, let group1 pk group3 and then ask all the students: which group reads more loudly ?3. Show a third two pictures about Na Ying and Han Hong and compare the weight of them and their skills of singing, ask two students to describe them: Na Ying is thinner than Han Hong. Han Hong is heavier than Na Ying. Let the class read tighter. Then,T: they both sing well. So Han Hong sings as well as Na Ying .Explain and teach both/ asas,Tell them the use of adjective about asas Then read in groups, let group5 & group4 and then ask all the students: which group reads faster ? 4. Show a fourth two pictures about Liu Yifei and Yang Mi and compare the hair of them and their action skills in the same way as 3 above.5. Show a fifth two pictures about Xie Na and BaiYansong compare the personality of them and their work like this:T: listen and repeat, Xie Na is more outgoing than Bai Yansong. Bai Yansong is more serious than XieNa. Then told them they both work hard. Guide them compare them: XieNa works as hard as Bai Yanson.then drill in the same way as 3 aboveStep4 listen and number1. Look at the picture and guide them to know the twins of the picture.2. 1b. Look and number the pairs of twins in the picture 1-3.3. Check the answers.Step5.pairwork1. Have ss work in pairs.2. Let ss report the twins. Then choose one to report in class. Step6 Talk freely Let ss talk some people and objects around us like this: A: Zhang Peng is shorter than Wang Fei, but he jumps higher than Zhang Peng.B: Tom writes English better than Jim, but Jim studies English better than Tom. C: I live farther from our school than you, but I get to school earlier than you. D: My pencil is shorter than yours, but it works as well as yours. Then choose two or three students to talk in class.Step7 find the rules let students themselves find the rules of the comparative degree of adjectives by giving the comparative degree of adjectives example.Step8 Exercise1.
