Lesson plan(Review the simple past tense)1. Teaching Objectives1) Instructional objectives: A) Language skills a) Grammar: Students can comprehend the usage of the Simple Past Tense. Students can recognize the past tense of regular and irregular verbs and use them correctly.b) Speaking: students will be able to talk about the past activities by using the Simple Past Tense.c) Writing: 80% of the students can write a short passage by using the simple past tense.2) Educational objectives A) All students can gain a better understanding of simple past tense. B) Students can be cooperative, willing to share their ideas about the past events.3) Personal objectivesIn class, the teacher should try to A) Arrange the activities and time properly; B) Let the students be interested in this class. C) Improve the relationship with students by encouraging and interacting with them. D) Speak confidently and aloud.2 Focal points1) Students can get a better understanding of the Simple Past Tense, and recognize the past tense of regular and irregular verbs and use them correctly.2) Students can talk about their daily activities by using the Simple Past Tense.3).Students can write an article by using the Simple Past Tense.3. Difficult points1).Students can write an article by using the Simple Past Tense2. Teaching Procedures and Time Allotment 1).Getting students ready for learning (1 minute)Step1. GreetingsT: Good afternoon boys and girls. Nice to meet you!Step2. Lead-in (3 minutes)Teacher asks students “Do you like English songs?” then plays yesterday once more for them. After listening to the then, teacher asks students to do a task (circle the past tense in the lyrics.) By doing this, students know that they are going to review the simple past tense.2). Pre-stage (5 minutes)Teacher shows the students the picture she took last year, and all sentences use the simple past tense. Tell students that if they want to describe an event happened in the past, they should use the simple past tense. Then, teacher presents the usage of simple past tense.3). While-stage (18minutes)Step 1:Review the temporal adverbial of simple past tense.Teacher presents the Chinese meanings, and students try to answer the English. Then, read the temporal adverbial of simple past tense together. Step2. Review the sentence pattern of simple past tense.1. Teacher shows them two sentences, 1. Last year, I was a college student. 2. I went to the library with my friends.Lead students to find the sentence pattern of simple past tense. then, teacher writes the pattern on the blackboard, and change it into negative sentences and general questions.Step3. Review the verbs past tense. 1. Teacher shows some verbs, and then asks students to change them into past tense. Next, lead students to summarize the rules. 2. Teacher shows them the irregular verbs. Students turn them into past tense, and read them together.3. Students finish do a task (Turn the verbs into their past tense.) Teacher asks them to find the irregular verbs then check the answer together.4). Post-stage (15 minutes) Step 1. Have a discussion.1. Teacher shows a picture of Shiling Ocean Park, which they went to school trip. And ask them “when you try to describe an event or a story, what should you write?”2. Teacher present the five W and a H(when, where, who ,what, why, how). Students have a discussion about the school.3. Students share the answers.Step2. Write an article about the school trip by using the simple past tense. Before writing the article, teacher shows them the sentences, words and phras
