Teaching aids教具准备Multi-media and some pictures Teaching procedures and ways教学过程与方式Step1. Lead -in 1. One minutes free talk like this:T: What day is it today ?” Ss: Its .T: Can you spell it ? Ss: Yes, .2.First let the students enjoy the music to relax “Light rain in March ”and then revise main points in Section A by using the sentence patterns: “How is the weather ?” “How is it going” “what are we/you doing now ?” e.g: T: Its a new day today . How is it going?S: Great. / Pretty good. / Not bad .T: Whats the weather like / How is the weather today?S: Its sunny / cloudy / windy .T: What are we / you doing now ?S: We are having an English class . Step2: Presentation 1.Show some weather pictures about four seasons and then teach the new words and phrases “hot ,cold ,cool warm, humid, have a cold ” by asking the Ss some questions about the different weather in the four seasons.2.Let the students try to finish 1a by discussing each other .Then check their answers . Step3: Pair work Work in pairs .Ask and answer questions about the weather in the pictures above in 1a . e.g : A: Hows the weather in picture d ? B: Its hot. .Step4 Practice According to the picture the teacher has given out ,and divide the whole class into four groups to answer this question “Hows the weather in this picture?”, finally ,lets see which team is winner .Step 5 listening 1. Listen to 2a twice and finish the chart in 2a on P34 .and then answer this question : Hows it going with Maria ?. 2. Listen again and let the students finish the chart in 2b ,then check their answers .Step 6 Role play 1. Role play a conversation between Maria and Sam in 2c. Ask and answer these questions: Hows it going? What are you doing? Hows the weather?. 2.Pair work . According to the chart . Ask and answer these questions in pairs : Hows it going? What are you doing? Hows the weather?.For example: A:Hello, Maria/ Sam.! Hows it going? B:Great/ Not bad/ Terrible/ Pretty good. A:Hows the weather? B:Its raining/ cold/ warm/ cool/ humid A:Whatre you doing? B:ImStep 7 Consolidation According to the picture the teacher has given out, then ask and answer between the teacher and different students belong to different groups . lets see which group is the champ .Step 8 Pair work Imagine you are in different cities in our country, talk about the weather there. You may use the patterns like the following:Hello, Li Yang! Are you in Beijing? Hows it going?(近来如何?)Hows the weather in(today)?Its sunny/raining/cold/warm/cool/humid Whatre you doing?
