初中英语人教版八年级下册 Unit 5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came?Section A 1a1c讲课教师:襄阳市宜城流水中学 陈祖珍评课教师: 1. 教学目标 (1)知识与能力学生能准确听、说、读、写rainstorm, at the time of (the rainstorm)等词汇;学生能熟练地听、说、读、写目标语言:What were you doing when the rainstorm came?I was reading in the library (when the rainstorm came).What was the girl doing at the time of the rainstorm?She was doing homework at home.学生能运用所学词汇和目标语言听懂听力材料并完成听力任务;学生能运用所学词汇和目标语言进行做调查、做游戏等课堂口语交际活动,并笔头整理调查结果。学生能通过板书总结语法过去进行时的用法及结构,并完成课堂反馈检测练习。(2)过程与方式学生能利用幻灯片或肢体语言等,通过各种口头问答、两人做调查、小组合作、游戏竞赛等学习方式开展口语交际活动,学习过去进行时和操练、运用目标语言。学生能通过观察、实践、分析、比较和记忆等方式,区别现在进行时和过去进行时差异,正确理解、运用过去进行时的结构和用法。学生能在老师的指导和同伴的合作帮助下,顺利完成听力、口语交际、检测练习等学习任务。(3)情感态度与价值观通过pair work、小组合作学习和竞赛活动,学生能提高英语学习兴趣,树立自信,培养合作精神和集体荣誉感。通过本节课的学习,促进学生彼此了解,互相学习,帮助学生理性安排假期。 2. 学情分析 (1)八年级的学生有一定的语言基础,本节课课堂教学活动中所需要的词汇,他们在前面大多已经学习过,这就降低了本节课的学习难度,有助于学生克服口头表达的畏难情绪。(2)学生在七年级下学期已经学习过现在进行时,大多数学生对于进行时的结构和动词的现在分词变化规则掌握得比较熟练,这为本节课的语法过去进行时的教学奠定了基础,有利于顺利突破本节课的教学难点。(3)中学生猎奇、好动,爱自我表现,所以课堂上的游戏竞赛、调查等教学活动正好符合学生的心理特征,有利于调动学生的英语学习热情和学习积极性。教师在教学过程中要抓住这一点,面向全体,注重差异,多用激励性评价,让学生在语言实践中体会到成功的喜悦。3. 重难点 教学重点:(1)词汇rainstorm, at the time of (the rainstorm)等等。(2)目标语言:1) What were you doing when the rainstorm came?I was reading in the library when the rainstorm came.2) What was he/she doing at the time of the rainstorm?He/She was doing homework at home.(3)过去进行时 be(was/were) + doing(本节课的话题是“谈论过去某个时刻正在干某事”,学生在课堂口语交际活动中,自然而然要用到新词汇、语法及目标语言,因此这些被列为教学重点。)教学难点:过去进行时的结构和用法(学生在七年级学习现在进行时时,特别易出错的地方就是丢掉助动词be (am, is, are)以及动词现在分词的变化。所以本课的教学难点是过去进行时的结构以及用法,要注意过去进行时的时间状语特点。4. 教学过程 4.1 第一学时 教学活动 活动1【导入】Preparation Step 1. Preparation (3 minutes)1. Greetings and a free talk.2. Revision of the Present Progressive Tense by playing a guessing game. The teacher does some actions and gets the students from each group to guess what the teacher is doing by having a competition.(教师按照座位将学生分成六组,宣布课堂活动采用小组竞赛的方式,以充分调动学生的积极性和参与意识。利用肢体语言让学生猜测老师正在干什么,通过竞猜游戏复习现在进行时。抢先回答正确的同学可以为小组挣得一面小红旗奖励。学生在游戏中自然进入学习状态。)活动2【讲授】Presentation Step 2. Presentation of the sentence patterns ( 12 minutes)Present the sentence patterns by talking about what the teacher was doing at this time of yesterday.T: Now Im having fun with you. But at this time of yesterday (on Bb,替换前面板书中的now并用红笔强调) I was very busy. What was I doing at this time of yesterday? (用红笔将前面板书中is改为was)Who can guess?S1: I guess you are/were/was doing.S2: I guess you T: Now please ask me together and Ill tell you the answer.Ss: What were you doing at this time of yesterday? (帮助学生说出正确答案,将are改成were)T: I was cooking breakfast.Then the teacher asks some students what they were doing at this time of yesterday. Then practice the target language on Bb in different ways.(教师以旧带新,从现在进行时自然引出过去进行时,学生在真实的语境中更易领会过去进行时的用法及结构。教师用目标句型提出问题,让学生自由作答,有利于学生暴露错误,从而通过观察、比较、分析,体会目标语言的不同,正确理解过去进行时的结构和用法。这里的多种方式机械性操练有利于学生准确而熟练地把握新目标句型。)活动3【练习】Practice Step 3. Practice (12 minutes)1. Work in pairs to make a survey about what they and their parents were doing at different times yesterday. Before the survey, the teacher gives the class an example by talking about her family members were doing. Use the target language to do the survey and fill in the chart.Your partner_ father_ motherAt 7:30At 8:.00At 9:00At 10:00At 11:00At 12:00(教师在教室里巡回走动,帮助学困生或纠正学生的语音、语法错误。通过调查可以让学生更多相互了解和学习,并及时引导学生理性安排假期活动,合理利用时间。)2. Play a guessing game to practice the target language and the grammar. Ask two students from each group to act in front of the class. One does an action and the other guesses what he/she was doing when the teacher said “stop”. Each group has only three chances. If they understand each other and work together, they can get a red flag as a prize. Before the game, the teacher asks two students to volunteer to give an example. Encourage the students to take an active part in the game.(这个竞猜游戏完全由学生自己合作表演,会极大调动学生的自信和热情,在玩中学,在学中用,真正做到学以致用。)3. Listening of 1a and 1b. Guide the students to talk about the pictures and finish the task in 1a. Then teach and learn the new word “rainstorm”. Then listen to the tape twice and finish the task in 1b. Then talk about the pictures together. Listen to the tape again and try to complete the conversations. Check the answers orally.in the studioReporter: The weather is beautiful today! But yesterdays _ (rainstorm) was the heaviest one _ (so far) this year. So, what _ (were) the people doing yesterday _ (at the time of) the rainstorm?outside the studio, on the streetGirl: I _ (was) at home _ (doing) my homework. But I could hear the heavy rain _ (against) my bedroom window.Boy: I _ (was reading) at the library after school. Im so glad I didnt decide to play basketball!Woman: I _ (was waiting for) the bus after work. Then the rain suddenly started and I got all wet.Man: I _ (was walking home) from the supermarket. Luckily, I had an umbrella, but I still _ (got wet)!back in the studioReporter: Looks like many people were caught in the rain yesterday. Many took hours to get home 活动4【活动】Production Step 4. Production(12分钟)T: Boys and girls, please look at this picture(七年级下册书中图片). It was a break time yesterday. What were the students doing at the break time? Please discuss together and talk about the picture. Each student says out at least one sentence. Try to make sentences as many as possible.(此处教师使用的是学生熟悉的图片,降低了学习的难度。小组讨论学习,学生互帮互助,敢于开口, 提高学以致用的能力。该环节,教师可以有机渗透思想教育。)活动5【测试】Progress Step 5. Progress (6分钟)1. Sum up the teaching and learning aims by asking the Ss to read the words and sentences on Bb. Ask the Ss to sum up the grammar if possible.(师生齐评并以掌声鼓励)2. Exercises:Complete the sentences according to the Chinese and words given in the blanks.1) Where were you _(在暴风雨时)last Friday? (at)2) _? (昨天九点钟你在干什么)(do)I _(在汽车站等公共汽车).
