Revise the rules of the past tense of verbs.2. Review regular verbs and irregular verbs.Step 2: Presentation1. Ask the students to read the words on the left.(1a)2. Explain the new words to the students.3. Lead in questions “What did you do last weekend ?”and give answers. Then let students ask and answer in pairs about 1a.Like this:- What did you do last weekend?- Well, on Saturday morning, I played badminton.Step 3: Listening1.Do 1b: Let the students listen and write the “day”, “morning”, “afternoon” or “evening” belout each pictures.2.Do 2a&2b(1)Play the recording the first time, students underline the words they hear.(2)Play the recording a second time, write C,B,J next to the statement in 2a.(3)Check the answers.(4)Listen and repeat the conversations.Step 4: Role play1. Read the conversation of 2c, have the students repeat.2. Ask the students to practice the conversations in 2b with a partner, using the answers to the questions of 2b.3. After students have practice several times, ask pairs to come to the front of the class and role play.Step 5: Reading1. Help the class understand the following:(1) How was your school trip last week?(2) Great. What did you do?(3) I worked as a guide at the Natural History Museum.(4) They have a butterfly house with over 200 kinds of butterflies.(5) I stayed up late to watch the soccer game.2. Teach the new words.3. The teacher reads the conversation with a student. Teacher acts as Paul, and the student acts as Lisa.4. Two students act as Paul and Lisa to role play the conversation.5. Ask several pairs to presents the conversation. The teacher gives some comments on the pronounciation and grammatical problems.Step 6: Summary1. Let students read and ask some questions.2.
