Unit 7 will people have robotsTeaching difficulties:passages main idea and different opinionsTeaching goals:let students learn how to analyze the paragraph and open their mind to talk about things in the future.Teaching plan:2a-2dTeaching process:Step 1. Warm upTeachers can use a recent news or movies about robots to give a free talk. Teacher:Good morning,everyone!I saw an exciting movie in the theater yesterday. Can you guess what it is?I give you a hint,it is about the high technology in the future.Students:I guess /I know it is ,I like that movie ,too. It makes me really excited. It is about a robot in the future with nice shape and skills.T:That is the right one I am talking about. I prefer that,too. Can you describe some details in the movie?S:Yes,what makes me real wonderful is that the robot is like the human beings . They have their own feelings and they even can have a baby in the future. That is unbelievable!T:Wow,it is gorgeous!I like that kind of imagination and I will give a thumb to the director,it opens my mind. What do you think about the robots today or in the future?S :I think they can (let them imagine different kinds of situations in the future to warm up the topic and the passages behind )Step 2: fast reading&2b First to guess the main idea from the picture,then analyze each paragraph .T: Look at the picture,what are they and what are they doing?S:They are robots and they are dancing on the stage.T:Right. That means they are showing robots dancing,they are also good at dancing like human beings . They are so lovely,do you think you will have your own robots like them?S :Yes,I would like that kind of robots to play with me.T :I would like,too. Maybe the writer loves that ,too. Do you think so? S:Yes,maybe the main idea is about what can robot do and what they look like in the future in our life.T : Great, nice guess. According to the picture and the title of the passage,I agree with you. Now Lets read paragraphs one by one and find out each paragraphs main idea and finish 2b.Then teachers check the answers and lead students to learn to pay attention to the first sentence and the last one to conclude the main idea.Step 3:careful reading &2c Read the passage ,try to use some reading skills to help them understand the structure of the passage.First,read carefully about paragraph1-2,finish2c quicklyThen , read carefully about paragraph3-4Learn some new points and understand the passageStep 4 mind mapUse some key words to give a mind map,it can help students to memorize the key words and phrases immediately to improve their skills.Team work to talk about the mind map as much as possible ,then close the book to finish 2d quicklyStep 5 imagine and
