XJA1 Auto Voltage Reducing StarterUser ManualStandard number:GB14048.4-2003Chang an Group Co. Ltd. Outline 1. Applied as less frequent reduced-voltage starting for three-phase squirrel-cage induction motor of rated voltages and capacity up to and including 380V and 320kw, the starter minimizes the influence to the transmission network. 2. Working indoors and under following conditions:(1) Altitude 3200w(2) Temperature within -5and 40, with a 35average(3) Relative humidity under 85%(4) Amplitude0.5mm, frequency600/m(5) 5angle from the vertical(6) Neither in the environment with metal-corrosive or insulation-disturbing gas nor in the air with inductive or explosive dust.(7) Protection degree IP203. To start an electric motor with XJA1, the starting current is 3-4 times over the rated and it should be done within 15 seconds. When using it twice in a roll, wait until it cools down to the room temperature, for frequent operation disturbs its performance. Structure5. XJA1 is designed as a central box structure, consisting mainly of an autotransformer, an AC contactor, a thermal relay, an intermediate relay, a time relay. Those up to 75kw apply automatic control system. Those 85kw and above apply two modes with an auto-man switch and an adjustable time relay, and starting time can be adjusted at between 5 and 15 seconds. There are two models of tapped coils, one with 65% rated voltage as the original default and an 80% one when necessary. Technical Content 6. Check to see any improper position before use; adjust the time relay to the actual motor use(15s); adjust the thermal relay to the motors operating current value. Then try the operation in different conditions. 1)auto control Throw the switch (knife transfer switch for 80kw) until the red indicator lamp is on, and tune to “auto” (80kw) and start the motor when green light is on. After the time is set by the time relay, the AC contactor is connected when the yellow light flashes. Then press “stop” button to stop the motor. With the pickup of starting contactor, the auto transformer begins to work when the green light turns off; when the yellow light is on, the time relay restarts, and after the setting moment, starting contactor fails, followed by an automatic switch to a decent operation, then the yellow light turns off and red light is on. Now press the “stop” button, and the motor stops running. 2)manual control(80kw) Throw the switch until the red indicator lamp is on, and tune to “auto” and start the motor when green light is on. When the motor reaches a steady speed and the current value falls to the rated current, press the “start” button to run the motor. Now you see a lighted yellow indicator instead of a green one, and press the “stop” button to stop the motor. Statement 1: Switch from starting to operating only when the motor reaches the rated speed, otherwise it spoils the contactor easily and harms the power network。The starting should be finished within 15 seconds and stop the motor with any malfunction within this period. Shoot the fault and do not restart until it cools down. Statement 2: Adjust the operating current of the thermal relay to a higher degree if there is any malfunction, and pull down the reset handle when it is overloaded during the operation.
