View Layout Iview Page Role WorksetOverview of Portal Structure:1. What is the concept of View in the portal?Hongtian It is the interface what we want to display in the portal, it will be called by IView.2. What is the concept of Layout in the portal?Hongtian The template of layout , it will be called by PageIt is very difficult to understand what is the detailed concept , I will attach some short screen to help u understand.So Lets step into the topic and image how to configure the portal for BW report.a. Logon the Portal SystemInput your username and password.b. In here you must try to understand these three main buttons on the top of page. They are respective Portal Content , System Administration and User Administration.c. We always create one folder to store all related contents. Whatever you can name anyway.d. After that, we will start to configure the information and Pages. There are three folders we are really concern. One is Ivew Folder and another is Role Folder and the rest of folder is Work sets.e. Right-click the ivew folder and create one new Iviews.Caution : there are more important sites need your guys paying attention, you can look from the short screen.f. Once Iviews was done, next step is to create the Work Set.The Entry Point is to determine if you want to display this Work set in the page. You can add or delete any work set or Ivew in this hierarchy , just choose the first node and select object what you want to add in the hierarchy. Please notice above page.g. Work set gets done, then we need create role to take control of your designed page.Just follow-up to add the related work set into Role. Keep the same sequence like the above cut screen.h. Jump to another layout viz User Administration and explore how to create new user and reset password and release lock and restrict users logon.i. So select user name and do some modification and arrange our designed role to related user or group.Research Role had been created On the left tab, and add in the Right Tab.
