The position and the function of the teaching materiala. Students know how to use the comparatives with- er/ier and more to compare people and things.b. Present the key words and target language to improve students integrating skills.c. Using the target language, to help students find out the regulations to learn the contents of this unit.II. The teaching aims1. Knowledge goals a. Key words: outgoing, clam, authentic, serious, smart, wild b. Drills: Tina is taller than Tara. Pedro is funnier than Paul. Tom is more authentic than Tom.2. Ability goals: Train students using the right forms of the comparatives of adjectives. Train students comparing peoples traits.3. Moral goals: To improve students ability of cooperation and conclusion. While comparing others traits, the students can enjoy the advantage of others.III. The teaching important points and the teaching difficult pointsa. The important points: Using of the comparatives of the adjectives. Subject (sb/sth) + be + the comparatives of adjectives + than + b. The difficult points: The construction of the comparatives of the adjectives (The comparatives with- er/ier and more)IV. Teaching methods and teaching aidsUsing the method of completing tasks, the situation method and communication strategy. V. Teaching procedure Step 1:Greeting and lead- in Using a piece of simple English song to create a relaxing atmosphere Giving out two pictures from my childhood and now. Then I will describe the difference between the two pictures by using the comparatives of the adjectives which we have contacted in last class. After it, I will ask the students- Do you have any difference between your childhood and now? Then students can discuss it in groups. At last, 3 students will represent it. Step 2: Presentation, drills and practice I will show the students 6 groups of pictures. Each group of picture has the target language. I ask them- whats the difference between the two pictures? Then boys ask girls. Last change the roles. target language: Whats the difference between Tina and Tara? Tina is taller than Tara. Tina is happier than Tara. Tina is more authentic than Tara.Step 3: Practice more and find out the regulation According to the practice, students will fill the blanks of a piece of dialogue which must use the right forms of tall, small, beautiful, authentic, outgoing, happy and funny. And they can use a competition way to report the answers. Asking students find out the regulation of each kind of construction of the comparatives of the adjectives in groups.Step 4: ListeningThe listening of 2b in Page 32 It can be divided into 3 steps:a. Just listening b. Writing down the answerc. Discussing with partner and make sentences into a integrated story againStep5: Consolidation (playing a guessing game) We are both boys and girls. We both like He/she is than I. But Im than him/her.Step6: Assignment Asking students try to find out more adjectives of each kind of construction of the comparatives of the
