Warming up1. Have students read and review the words by themselves.2. Present the two goals.Step 2: Presentation & PracticeGoal 1 : Asking the way1. Show the example and have students compare the expressions to point out the more polite one.2. Emphasize the order of the words when making the objective clause.3. Show students more examples and have them make sentences in a polite way, pointing out the use of “Excuse me” or “Could”. 4. Help students learn the new words and expressions while making new sentences according to the pictures. 5. Pair work Have students work in pairs and make conversations using the target language. 6. Listening Practice Have students preview the words and the names of the places. Task 1 (1b) . Fill in the blanks Task 2. Fill in the chart. Check the answers by choosing some to speak the answers out.Goal 2 : Asking the way 1. Help students get a revision of the directions. 2. Show a map and lead students to show the way. 3. Listening Practice. Preparing for the listening, have students get the basic information of the picture in 1b. Have students listen to 1b and put the sentences in order.
