八(下)Unit4 Why dont you talk to your parents? Section A 3a-3c教学设计一、 教材分析1. 活动背景本课时主要围绕主人公Sad and Thirteen的一封求助信以及Robert Hunt给他的回信所展开。通过学习Sad与其家人之间所产生的一些问题及困惑,以及Hunt给他的一些建议,掌握核心语言目标“Talk about problems and give advice”,话题是“Advice”,教学活动贯穿“谈论问题、提供建议”这一主线,培养学生的语言运用能力,让学生学会在交流中寻求帮助、阐述的观点、听取别人的建议,发展学生与人和谐交往的能力。2. 教学重点(1) 重点词汇:argue, relation, nervous, elder, unfair, instead, refuse, communicate, communication, explain, get on with sb.(2) 重点句型:My problem is I cant get on with my family. Maybe he could communicate with his elder brother. I agree/disagree with his advice because.(3) 围绕“Talk about problems and give advice”展开讨论。3. 教学难点(1) 能够运用所学知识谈论问题和困难、提出建议并作出选择;(2) 能够运用写信等方式向别人寻求帮助及建议。二、 学情描述 本课的话题是学生非常熟悉又有亲身体验的话题,而且在第一单元已经学习了用情态动词should提建议,在本单元的第一课时也学习了用Why dont you do sth句型来给他人提建议,所以在学生掌握了“谈论问题及提出建议”的基本方法后就可以让他们自由谈论各自的问题或向同伴提出合理的建议。三、 教学目标1.语言技能目标(1) 能运用陈述句谈论在学校或在家中遇到的种种麻烦和问题;(2) 能运用情态动词could/should和Why dont you.?句型提出相应的建议,为他人找到合理的解决办法;(3) 能够以写信的方式向家人或老师寻求帮助。2.语言知识目标 (1)能在向他人提建议的交际中,掌握并运用情态动词could/should;(2)能灵活运用He should/Maybe he could等句型委婉地向别人提出建议;3.情感态度目标 (1)通过共同探讨、解决各种烦恼和困惑,让学生学会反思自我,体谅他人,增强合作意识、培养积极、乐观的情感态度; (2)通过寻求帮助、提供建议等形式的合作学习,发展学生的人际交往能力; (3)通过讨论,制订帮助他们减轻压力的计划,使他们树立自信心。4.文化意识目标 了解谈论问题、寻求帮助和提供建议的基本方式,学会用得体的语言进行表述。5.学习策略目标 (1)通过写信的方式提高学生实际运用语言的能力;(2)通过与同学沟通交流,培养学生解决实际问题的能力。四、 教学过程Step 1: Presentation Before class:Play the song T:Just now,we listened to the song ,just as the song says:Trouble will find you no matter where you go.So it is normal for everyone to have trouble or problem.Do you have problems in daily life?What are they? S:I have too much homework so I dont have any free time to do things I like. T:Why dont you talk with your teacher and tell him/her you need time to do what you like. .Step 2: Reading Before reading T:Look at 3a,Here are two letters.The first is from sad and thirteen to Mr Hunt and the second is from Robert Hunt to sad and thirteen.Obviously it is a reply.Pay attention to the writers name-Sad and thirteen,Do you think it is a real name?What can you know from his name?Whats wrong with him. T:What does Robert Hunt do? What is the passage mainly about?Can you guess?阅读策略1:Before reading,read the title carefully and we can get some information about the passage. T:Look at the picture.What are they doing? S:They are fighting/arguing. T:Yes,a man is arguing with a woman.Where are they? S:At home. T:So can you guess the relation between them?-husband and wife. It seems that they cant get on with each other.I think if they argue,the relations between them will be difficult.Do you think so?From the picture we can guess maybe the problem is from family/parents/life. 阅读策略2:Pictures can also tell us something about the passage. While reading skim the letters and answer the questions. Q1:Whats Sad and Thirteens problem? Q2:Whats Mr Hunts advice?阅读策略2:Look through quickly to find the main idea without reading every word. Read carefully and fill in the chart. Sad and Thirteens problem Robert Hunts adviceabout his parentsabout his elder brother阅读策略4:Guess the meaning of the word from the context. T:Do you agree or disagree Mr Hunts advice?Why?Work in group of 4 and ask two students to report. T:So how should we get on well with our family?I think we have many ways to choose and my advice is First,listen to each other.Then open your mind.Next,voice your true feelinsg.Finally,equal each other.That is love.Especially in a family.(情感教育) T:ok,now lets read after the tape.Pay attention to your prounciation and intonation. After reading T:Now lets make a conversation. A:Good morning.You look sad.Whats wrong? B:I cant get on with my family.My parents fight a lot.What should I do? A:Why dont you.so that. B:OK,I will.And my elder brother is also. A:Maybe you could. . B:You are right.Thanks for all the good advice.以对话的形式让学生复述课文内容,同时在对话中熟练运用新授词汇和句型。 T:lets have a summary.What have we learned? (1)Some new words and phrases (2)Find words or phrases in the letters that have the similar meanings and make Sentences.(3C) (3)How to describe problems and give advice T:OK,lets talk about our own problems.What problems do you have?Step 3: Homework1. Listen to the two letters several times after class.2. Write a letter to your parents or teachers to talk about the problems you have.
