Chinese Paper Art 一、学情分析1、 本课授课对象为勒流中学高一平行班学生,多数学生学习主动性不强,缺乏目标性和积极思考的能力,但学生对图片、歌曲、录像或故事等还是比较感兴趣,好奇心强,只要千方百计调动学生的积极性,学生学习和使用英语的积极性还是比较高。2、 通过模块1和模块2前面两个单元的学习,学生已经初步把握熟悉了以话题为主的单元构成,而且发展了相关话题的词汇和拓展话题的基本能力。3、 笔者授课班级已组成了合作学习小组,他们是按照同学的学科优劣、个性等搭配而成,平时经常进行小组活动,有合作基础和经验。二、课题分析Chinese Paper Art是北京师范大学出版社出版的高中英语必修模块二Unit6 Design的Reading版块。这一版块主要介绍了中外著名艺术、艺术家及其不同的艺术风格,了解中外绘画艺术风格,了解英语国家典型的居民住房和中国的剪纸艺术以及一些世界遗产。通过本单元的学习,可以帮助学生加深对中外文化的理解,初步了解英语国家文化在日常生活和人们价值观中的体现,理解交际中的文化差异,初步形成跨文化交际意识。本课是本单元的话题之一。文章主要从剪纸的历史、种类、用途等话题展开,旨在让学生了解中国的剪纸艺术,加深对中国文化的理解,培养学生的人文意识、保护和弘扬民族文化的意识。文章配了多幅精美的剪纸作品,以对话的形式介绍中国的剪纸艺术,通俗易懂。本节课为阅读课的第一课时,教师应强化学生在阅读的过程中快速提取并分析信息的能力,指导学生学会用英语介绍中国剪纸艺术,能实现跨文化交流。三、教学理论新课标提倡学生自主学习,教师应从单纯注重知识传授转为关注学生的学习方式、学习愿望和学习能力的培养,要引导学生质疑、调查、探究,在实践中学习,富有个性地学习,为他们的终身发展打下良好的基础。本节课力求体现新课标理念和英语教学的人文性。笔者力求在阅读中实施策略教学,引导学生自主阅读,养成自主阅读习惯和培养阅读探究的能力,形成自主阅读的教学模式,从而提高英语教学的实效性和针对性。因此,笔者以教师为主导,以学生为主体,借助多媒体,结合活动教学法与任务型教学法,让学生在小组中,通过合作和探究来完成任务,使阅读课形象、生动,变阅读课为一堂生动的语言实践课,有助于学生对课文内容的理解和掌握,进一步强化师生互动,更好地促进学生的学习潜能的发挥,提高教学效果。四、教学目标(一) 语言知识目标1)熟悉以下词汇和短语bat, tomb, dynasty, purpose, pattern, character, happiness, temple, jewellery, religious;date back to/date from, relate to, try out2)充分理解课文大意并完成所给的任务。3)用所学的词汇和要点复述或归纳文章内容。(二) 能力目标1)了解中国的剪纸艺术,提高学生从文中获取具体信息,并进行分析、推理和判断的能力。2)学会从上下文猜测词义,进一步提升查找信息、快速获取信息的能力。3)能用英语简单介绍剪纸艺术,积极参与语言实践活动,提高用英语进行思维和表达的能力。(三) 情感目标1)激发学生对我国优秀传统文化艺术的兴趣,培养学生的民族自豪感,教导学生保护和弘扬民族文化,继承和发扬中国文化遗产。 2)激发学生学习并使用英语的兴趣,在英语交流中保持主动表达的热情与愿望。3)培养学生的跨文化交际意识、合作意识、乐于分享信息和资源的意识。五、教学重点和难点1)整体理解全文大意。2)如何利用略读、扫读等阅读技巧获取信息和识别关键词、预测等手段形成阅读策略,促进学生自主阅读。3)怎样以阅读课的教学为依托,全面训练学生运用英语的能力和培养学生合作能力。4)如何用英语介绍中国的剪纸艺术,培养学生跨文化交际能力。六、教学流程图课堂教学流程图图片引入话题PPTLead-in(5 min.) Have you ever seen paper-cutting, such as flowers, animals, types of facial makeup in operas? 幻灯片 2 To appreciate more pictures of bat, character, jewellery etc.【设计意图】 为了调动学生的学习积极性,导入部分采用了图片、视频片段,形象、直观。导入部分由三个步骤构成:(1) 首先展示一些中国艺术瑰宝的图片,激发学生对祖国丰富的文化遗产的热爱,引出剪纸的话题;(2) 让学生看一段剪纸作品的视频,提出和纸有关的问题,鼓励学生开口谈论一些关于剪纸的问题,对文章内容进行预测,为随后的信息交流做好准备。尤其是展示奥运剪纸及胡锦涛总书记亲手制作的剪纸画,将使剪纸这一话题更加鲜活和贴近学生的生活,把同学们学习剪纸的热情推向高潮,激发学生对中国民间艺术的热爱。(3) 在屏幕上展示中国古今的各种各样剪纸画,让学生用英语说出每幅画的名称,这些英语单词都是本课中出现并要求同学们学习和掌握的单词。笔者抛开传统的教读单词法,通过图片展示这种直观教学法,让学生观察、欣赏各类精美的剪纸的同时学习单词,理解单词的意思。StepII While-ReadingTask 1 skimming1)Read the text quickly and find the topic sentence of each paragraph.Para1 a. To introduce the art of paper.(Key: D)【设计意图】 略读(skimming)是一种非常实用的快速阅读技能,要求学生以极其快速的速度阅读大量的材料,寻找字面上或事实上的主要信息和少量的阐述信息,可以跳过某个部分或某些部分不读,以求抓住文章的大意。速读课文不是简单地读课文,而是通过标题、图画或表格等预测全文大意;设计一定的问题帮助学生理清文章思路,理解文章大意,分清文中的事实和观点等。通过此任务,培养学生在短时间内获取有用信息的能力和合作探究能力,同时让学生了解课文内容。Task 2:Scanning1. ( Keys: C B B D)【设计意图】 扫读(Scanning)也是一种快速阅读的技巧,带有明确的目的性和针对性。扫读是指寻找文章中的特定信息或特定词组,如时间、地点、数字、人物等。在扫读过程中,我们忽略与题目要求不相关的信息。如果题目要求寻找具体的事实信息或么某一特定部分,那么扫读是一种有用的策略。题目的设计体现了高考阅读理解题型考查特点,培养了学生的解题能力。Task 3. P7(keys: date back to/ dynasty / religious /pattern/character/ paper cuts / offering /temple/try out)【设计意图】 设计根据英文解释在原文中找相关词汇的练习,旨在寓词于境,进一步巩固难记的词和重点词汇,加深学生对词汇的印象,锻炼学生的猜词能力。以抢答的方式回答活跃了课堂气氛,创造出一种使学生心灵放松、自主学习的氛围,给予学生自行探索的时间、空间,让学生主动参与,激发创造意识,点燃思想的火花。同时也为后面的细节阅读扫除了障碍。Task 4 Detailed readingRead the text carefully and then answer the following questions in pairs.1) What evidence is there in a long tradition of paper-cutting in China?2) What are the three types of paper cuts nowadays? 3) What do people use the three types paper cuts for?4) Which Chinese character often appears in wedding paper cuts?5) How is paper-cutting related to fashion?【设计意图】 学生先独立完成该阅读任务,再小组讨论,最后笔者给出参考答案。此活动旨在引导学生带着问题细读课文,学会在文章中找到问题的答案,并且可以提高学生的推理判断、逻辑思维能力。而且小组讨论激活了学生的思维,鼓励学生用自己的话重组语言,开口说英语。Step III Post-reading Task1 Oral practiceIn pairs, students make a short passage according to the answers to the above questions.【设计意图】走进课文,笔者先将阅读课中的核心部分简化,重点放在对文章细节的理解,对难句的理解,把课文阅读变为阅读加口语表达,让学生结合细读环节所设问题的答案,复述课文,接着请若干学生讲述,然后组织学生讨论课文中的相关段落内容以及难句(Para.3-Para.6),这属于任务型教学。Step IV Self-improvementPaper-cutting is a Chinese folk art 1_a long history. It dates back 2_ the 6th century 3_ women used to paste golden and silver foil cuttings onto their hair at the temples. Later, they 4_(use) during festivals to decorate gates and windows. By the Southern Song Dynasty, paper-cutting 5_ (become) an important part of everyday life. Upon the birthday party of a senior, people 12_ whom the person was related would make the character Shou represent longevity and will add delight to the whole celebration (Keys: with, to, when, were used, had become, which, and, up, to, character, happiness, to)【设计意图】 依据高考题型,仔细斟酌,笔者组织了一篇语法填空的任务型阅读题,让学生依据上下文自行填空,学生必须充分理解课文才能填出来。此题旨在锻炼学生在特定的语境中运用语言的能力。4分钟后公布答案,学生4人为一组,讨论正确答案的来源和依据,然后请一位同学到讲台上代替老师来解答学生的提问,最后学生齐读一次。在此互动中,大家主动学习,相互协作,倾听和采纳他人意见,尊重对方,有助于学生交流思想,互相学习,培养团队合作精神,营造宽松、民主、和谐的教学氛围。语言学习的最终目的是运用,而在运用的前提下对所学知识进行及时检测可以肯定学生们的成绩,增强学生的信心和热情,是保持、促进学生积极主动学习的一个有效策略。通过提炼课文内容,形成摘要,帮助学生自我提高,为高考写作打基础。Teachers words:Paper-cut is a visual art of Chinese handicrafts. Paper-cut in China is the symbol of Chinese traditional culture heritage. After hundreds of years development, now they have become a very popular means of decoration. People find hope and comfort in expressing wishes with paper cuttings. It also plays an important part in promoting cultural interaction. Additional materials:Paper cutting is a traditional art that has evolved through-out the course of Chinese cultural development. Its origin should be closely connected with the invention of paper during the Han dynasty (206 B.C.-221 A.D.). As paper was highly precious in the early days, the art of paper cutting first became popular in the royal palaces and houses of nobility as a favorite pastime among court ladies. Later, during the 7th through 13th centuries, paper cutting was immensely popular during folk festivals and celebrations. Paper-cutting is that pictures cut out on a paper with scissors. The picture patterns are often pasted on the lintels, windows or lanterns to express the feelings of joys and the perceptions in life. Hence the scissors cut is also
