The dialogue is about Mikes family discussing the food for dinner. The main structures are “-What would you like for dinner?-Id like some., please.” These sentences are the foundation of this unit, which are the teaching key points. Analysis of the students The students in grade 4 have learned some words and sentences about food. They can talk about the food they like using the sentences “What do you like?” “I like.” Theyre interested in English especially when it comes to food, and willing to speak more on this topic. Teaching Objectives1. Knowledge objectives:Key sentences: What would you like for dinner? Id like some , please.2. Ability objectives:(1) Students can listen, read, say and understand the dialog.(2) Students can make a survey of what others would like for dinner.(3) Students can make a new dialog and act it out.3. Brainstorming: Say the words of food and drink quickly.3. Ask and answer: What would you like? Id like some, please.(Intent:Help students get ready for English class. Review the words about food and drink.)Step2. Presentation1. (CAI) T: Look! Its six oclock in the evening. Its time for dinner.Whats for dinner? Can you guess?2. (CAI) T: This is Mike. Hes hungry. This is Mikes mum. Shes going to cook dinner. What would Mike like for dinner? Lets listen to the dialog. (Use Chang Yan software to play the recording.)3. (CAI) T: Look, Mikes dad comes back from work. What would Mikes dad like for dinner? Lets watch the video.4. Check the answers.5. (Chang Yan software) Listen and repeat the dialog.(Intent:Enhance students interests. Have students listen and watch with purposes.)Step3. Practice1. Ask some pairs to role-read the dialog.2.
